THE FINAL TWO DAYS.
Well, here we are.
The final two days of The Hunter Foundation ScaleUp Programme.
Several months of learning, challenging assumptions, meeting some genuinely brilliant people and occasionally discovering that the way you’ve always done something isn’t necessarily the way you should keep doing it.
Which, when you’ve been running a business for over 25 years, can be a slightly uncomfortable revelation.
But that’s rather the point.
At Lairds AV, we’ve spent years designing, engineering and delivering technology solutions, solving problems and occasionally making the seemingly impossible work.
What the ScaleUp Programme has encouraged us to do is turn that same engineering mindset on the business itself.
Question everything.
Challenge the comfortable.
Think bigger.
And, perhaps most importantly, make sure the business is engineered to grow, rather than simply getting better at being busy.
It’s been a fantastic experience, surrounded by ambitious Scottish businesses, each with their own challenges, ideas and ambitions.
A huge thank you to The Hunter Foundation, the programme team, mentors and everyone who’s shared their knowledge, experience and occasionally uncomfortable questions along the way.
Two days left.
Plenty still to learn.
And a rather exciting next chapter to build.
After all, if you’re going to scale something, you’d better make sure the foundations are sound.
And coming from an engineering company, we’d be rather embarrassed if they weren’t. 😁
