This has been a dream of mine for a long time ...to be able to share my love of antiques and interiors establishing a National fair in Northern Ireland.
I've been collecting antiques throughout the UK and Ireland for over 20 years finding pieces at fairs mostly in England that I can weave into our interiors in our guest houses. For me, it’s often about finding new ways to display old pieces that fit in a modern home. And if you're lucky the piece you find also has a history, a story of a previous owner, a family heritage or a feeling of what it was like to be living in a different time and bonus is they are often not only sustainable but contrary to opinion more affordable than many modern pieces!
The Great Antiques Fair is going to be a place where hopefully everyone can fall in love with antiques. But it's not all about old pieces. There will be workshops with experts on restoration, upcycling and repurposing. Interior design masterclasses, blending antiques with modern designs and many more tips.
I have teamed up with the expert help of Joanne McErlain from Babble who has been creating and running artisan markets and food festivals for over ten years including Royal Hillsborough Farmers & Christmas Markets, Moira Specialty Food Fair, Inns Cross Market and Elmfield Market.
We're brimming with excitement to bring this together.
Do follow along as we share the details of this - what we hope will be - a fabulous event at the Larchfield Estate.
