💜 Throwback Thursday – Sometimes Life Brings the Right People Together!
This photo was taken back in 2017, at Heathrow airport, just before setting off on what was to become one of the most amazing adventures of my life.
I was heading off to trek the Grand Canyon to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, and little did I know that I was also about to make some wonderful lifelong friends. 💚
There we were, six women who barely knew each other, gravitating towards each other before we'd even boarded the plane!
We shared an incredible adventure, lots of laughter and tears and we made memories that will stay with us all forever. But the really lovely thing is that our friendship didn't end when we came back home.
Almost ten years later, we're still firm friends. We've enjoyed lots of holidays and adventures together since, and there's always plenty of laughter (and sometimes tears) when we get together!
I've often thought how life has a funny way of bringing people together. Sometimes we meet the most wonderful people later in life, through shared experiences or a common cause. And sometimes that common cause comes from something incredibly difficult or sad.
But out of those experiences can come unexpected friendships, new adventures and paths we might never have taken otherwise. And I think that's something really special. 💜
Who would have thought, sitting around that airport table back in 2017, that we'd still be making memories together all these years later?
Here's to the friendships we never saw coming, and the wonderful people we meet along the way. 💜
