Digging out the waterproofs and wellies this weekend? Maybe we should wrap a boot room into your renovation plans?

Let's design a utility space or boot room around your needs and your family, and get it ready for the wet dogs, wet coats, wet school bags and, of course, the muddy boots 🍂☔

Sometimes key design decisions have to change once you're on site and start the installation, especially in older houses where they keep some things to themselves until you start peeling back the layers!

In this kitchen, the original plan was to fit the extractor into the existing chimney. Once work started, however, we discovered that the chimney space and lintel meant the planned solution simply wouldn’t work.

Effective extraction was particularly important to the clients, so we redesigned this element and specified a powerful downdraft extractor instead. There's always a great design solution; it's just sometimes not the first one!

Having moved from a larger family home, storage was an important part of the brief for this project.

The property had lovely high ceilings, which gave us an opportunity to make much better use of the space, with additional cabinetry above the pantry cupboards and oven housing. At the heart of this kitchen transformation were two spaces that weren't working.

The existing kitchen and adjoining orangery felt disconnected, with a brick-built pantry interrupting the flow between them.

By removing the pantry and continuing the kitchen cabinetry through into the orangery, we created a much more cohesive space. And now, this light and spacious country kitchen feels as though it was always designed this way.
