Unfortunately guys, we won't be at the Retford Market this weekend. We've just had it confirmed by the licensing team that there will be no covers on the stalls & the market will be closing at 12pm, due to the weather forecast. 🌧
A stall with no covers is no use to us! 🤷‍♀️

We've defered our booking to next weekend, so fingers crossed the weather will play ball by then. 🤞

As I work from my home studio, The Flower Box is open for orders as usual, so don't hesitate to get in touch for delivery or collection 💐

A little reminder about supporting small businesses… ❤️

My last post received just 3 likes.

Now, according to my page analytics, 72% of the people who viewed it were already followers of my page.

It got me thinking…

We often hear people say how important it is to support small businesses, how we should shop local, support independents and help keep small businesses alive.

But the reality is, sometimes, the support we talk about doesn't always show up where it matters.

Supporting a small business isn't JUST about making a purchase.

Of course, every order, no matter how big or small, makes a difference. But there are so many other ways you can help a small business grow, and they don't cost a penny.

❤️ Like a post — it helps create engagement.

❤️ Leave a comment — even a few words can make a difference.

❤️ Share a post — help us reach people who might never otherwise see our page.

❤️ Recommend us to friends, family or anyone looking for what we offer.

❤️ Spread the word — tell people about the small businesses you love.

Behind every small business is a real person investing their time, money, passion and often a huge amount of personal sacrifice into making it work.

We don't have the enormous advertising budgets of big retailers. We rely on word of mouth, social media reach and the kindness of the people who follow us.

And sometimes, a simple like or share can mean far more than you realise.

I'm not expecting everyone to buy something every week, every month or even every year. That's simply not realistic.

But if you genuinely want to see small businesses survive and thrive, please remember that support doesn't always have to cost you anything.

The next time you scroll past a post from a small business you follow, take a second to interact with it. You never know how much of a difference that tiny gesture could make.

Because saying you support small businesses is lovely…

But showing it, in whatever way you can, is what really counts. ❤️
