🌟 Adult Patchwork & Quilting Classes 🌟

🧵 9.30am – 12.30pm on June 27, July 25,  August 29, September 26,  October 31
and  November 28

A fabulous introduction to Patchwork and Quilting . Come along and make your own beautiful lap quilt!

You will learn how to:

✂️ Layout fabrics and cut using a rotary cutter and quilting ruler
🪡 Use a sewing machine to assemble blocks
🧵 Lay out your quilt to create a quilt sandwich with wadding and backing
🪡 Quilt by machine or by hand
✨ Embellish your quilt to your personal taste
🖼️ Make a sleeve for the back if you wish to hang your quilt on the wall
🪡 Make and sew binding by machine, then hand sew the back
🏷️ Create a label for the back of your quilt with a name and date to be remembered!

You will need to attend at least 5 sessions to complete the quilt. Additional sessions can be added if there is demand.

 £36 per session
(Upfront payment required: £72)

Classes are non-refundable unless we cancel.

Fees include the use of sewing machines and tools, but excludes fabric, wadding, backing, and cotton thread.

We will show you how to set up your machine, wind the bobbin and thread your machine correctly. You will learn how to start and finish, sew straight lines and curves. Insert a zip using the zipper foot and fashion a zipped bag to take home with you. Sew button holes and talk about the different stitches, feet and accessories that come with your machine. We will guide you on how to keep your machine in excellent condition for your sewing journey! There will be plenty of hints and tips on the day giving you the confidence to go home and start sewing straight away! Course fee is £55.00 which includes fabric and refreshments. If you do not have a sewing machine you are welcome to borrow one on the day.
Payments to be made in advance to secure your sewing seat. Please bring with you on the day a notebook, pen, sewing machine and foot pedal, sewing machine manual and all the sewing accessories that come with your machine.
Please bring a packed lunch.
