Is your child always coming home missing a glove? If the answer is yes I have a solution for you.
I make glove clips. They are made with elasticated ribbon in a huge variety of designs. Simply clip one end to your glove, the other to the cuff of the coat. They secure extremely well and all clips are plastic, so they won't damage clothing or rust!
