Being asked to supply my Norfolk-grown flowers to none other than Shane Connolly MBE for a Norfolk wedding last week is surely a privilege and a notable occasion.

A wonderful and largely white flower themed wedding at Wolterton which is no less than 15 minutes from where these whimsy, British flowers are grown.

Thank goodness for the new Dahlia Grower | Dahlia Farm | North Norfolk field taking its time to be forthcoming this year… it meant plenty of perfect white and warm peach for this event.

Along with some pale buff and pink Zinnias to set the tone amongst the white for this October wedding.

HELLO 👋

I am not cool, photogenic or Insta-worthy.

The flowers are however, and that’s why they are the focus of my pics. But seeing as Insta popularity is driven by the ‘faces’ behind everything, ‘HELLO’, here I am - a real person!

One not particularly big person, helping to make people love locally grown, BEAUTIFUL British flowers in a big way.

I’m Ellie, and I run Norfolk Flower Farm and Norfolk Dahlias - growing as much as I possibly can in a small-ish way in North Norfolk for the past 4 seasons.

Lovely to meet you and I hope you enjoy the happiness in my wonderful flowers, that are grown through passion and love.

It’s a glorious 1st October and the Norfolk skies are beautifully blue 😍

Anyway, just a quickie… if you need a Dahlia fix, bunches are available from the flower field in Norfolk tomorrow (Friday 2nd Oct) 9am - 4pm and Saturday 9.30am - 3pm

The last busy, busy few days of 2026 bookings 🙌 topped off with 3 forthcoming days of the Cutting Garden Masterclass (still places left for Saturday!)

I’m so relieved to have made it through this reeeeally tricky season and there’s still plenty blooming, including Dahlias which have at flipping last started to pump out!!

Flowers will continue to feature till the end of the season; gift bouquets can still be ordered and maybe there will be dahlia bunches to be had too. Keep your eyes peeled on my stories!

Meanwhile seed harvesting is underway, as is sowing, pricking out and potting on with the help of my trusty sister

And then the BIG clear down will commence and I literally can’t wait to get my hands on it; such a tip by this stage in the year!

If you’re looking for cut flowers that love-not-hate the heat and lack of water… well these beauties have GIVEN this year! Best crop ever. Hurrah!

ZINNIA 🌸

I don’t know why but for a couple of years many moons ago I couldn’t grow them. But they’re actually very easy to germinate and grow. Very quick too so you can be sowing annual crops till quite late in the season for any emergency garden gaps.

An amazing cut-and-come-again annual flower. Do you love or hate?
