This is one of those wee messages that genuinely makes me so bloody proud. 🥹💐

It’s half past 9 on a Saturday night, I’m sitting watching the football because apparently I’m a football nerd now 😂 I’m actually watching Celtic and I don’t even support Celtic, but anyway… 😂

Then this random wee message pops through:

“Daughter’s flowers are beautiful as usual. Your staff are amazing.”

And honestly, I LOVE when customers take the time to acknowledge my staff. ❤️

I’m like a proud wee ma. 😂 Because I know how hard the girls work, I know how much they care, and I know they genuinely do go above and beyond for our customers. But when somebody else notices it and actually takes the time to tell me? That means everything.

Running a wee business can be stressful as hell, but messages like this remind me that I’ve got a bloody brilliant team around me. 🥹❤️

And after spending most of today being menopausal and raging at absolutely everything, this has fair cheered me up. 😂😂

Well, I WAS going to give you all a day off from hearing about me taking on the bus lanes… 😂

That lasted until approximately the first delivery of the morning.

Van loaded. Flowers in. Ready to go. 🚐💨
And then… a bus decided to block me in. 😂😂

So there I was, sitting in the van with my wee can of Diet Irn-Bru, thinking, well, I’m no going anywhere, so I may as well admire the view.

And actually… LOOK AT MY SHOP. 😍🌸

She’s looking bloody lovely today! Absolutely packed with fresh bouquets and grab & goes, all ready to walk in and pick up.

And remember, you don’t even need to buy a full bouquet — you can pop in and pick up just a couple of individual stems if you fancy. 🌻🌷

So aye… the bus blocked me in, but at least it gave me five minutes to sit and admire Nikki’s Fleurs. 😂

Bus lane campaigning resumes shortly. Normal service has NOT been restored. 😂🚍🌸

Yesterday, these were just a few of the funeral tributes that went out from Nikki’s Fleurs. 💚🤍

DAD & PAPA two simple words, but to the family receiving these, he meant the absolute world.

The green and white colours were chosen especially because this gentleman was a huge Hibs supporter. 💚⚽️

We know that when we make funeral flowers, they’re never just flowers. They’re part of somebody’s final goodbye, and we put so much care into making sure every tribute is personal to the person being remembered.

Rest easy 💚🤍

📣 RIGHT GUYS, I NEED EVERYBODY’S HELP AGAIN! 📣

I’m now trying to target everyone who uses Meadowbank Sports Stadium and get as much support behind this campaign as I possibly can.

Meadowbank themselves will not back us as that is owned by the council but the thousands of people, clubs, coaches and organisations who use the stadium absolutely can.

So I’m trying to think of EVERYONE…

🥊 Do you run or attend boxing classes there?
📣 Cheerleading competitions?
💃 Dance classes or competitions?
⚽ Football training or matches?
🏃 Athletics?
🏋️ Fitness classes?
🏀 Sports clubs?
🏆 Competitions or events?

Basically, if you use Meadowbank Sports Stadium for ANYTHING, I want to hear from you.

These proposed 7am–7pm bus lanes don’t just affect the wee grumpy florist down the road 😂 they potentially affect everyone travelling to Meadowbank, including participants, coaches, parents, spectators and event organisers.

I’m trying to gather as many statements of support and evidence of how this could affect people as possible.

So please, TAG absolutely anyone you know who runs a club, class, team, competition or event at Meadowbank. 🙏❤️

Right guys, I’m looking for a wee bit of help ❤️

I’m hoping somebody on here knows somebody connected with Hibernian Women, Edinburgh City FC or Leith Athletic FC.

I’m genuinely trying everything I possibly can to fight these proposed 7am–7pm bus lanes around Meadowbank, and because these clubs all use Meadowbank Stadium, I’d really love to speak to somebody from each of them.

I’m not looking for anything massive — even just a short statement about how the changes could affect supporters getting to games, parking, families attending, players and ultimately match-day attendance would really help me when I put my case to the council.

I’m just one wee business owner trying to gather as many voices as possible, and I know there must be somebody on my Facebook who knows somebody at one of these clubs.

So please, have a wee think, tag somebody, send them this post or put me in touch. Even if it’s a friend of a friend of a friend

Guys, honestly… I normally come on my business page for a bit of light-hearted banter, a laugh and probably a moan about something 😂 But over the last couple of days, the support I’ve had over these proposed 7am–7pm bus lanes, 7 days a week, has genuinely been overwhelming.

And I really need people to understand — I am not fighting this just for myself or for Nikki’s Fleurs.

I’m fighting it for the wee baked potato shop next door to me. A huge part of his business is passing trade — tradesmen pulling up, running in, grabbing their lunch and getting back to work. They are NOT going to park streets away and walk back down for a baked potato. If that passing trade disappears, I genuinely worry whether his wee business could survive.

Then there’s the plumbers beside me. The embroidery shop. The hairdressers. The nail technician. The barbers. Real small businesses, employing real people and trying to make a living.

And that’s before we even start talking about funeral directors, carers, taxis, delivery drivers, tradespeople, elderly and disabled residents, or businesses like mine that physically need vehicles to load and unload.

This is why I’m making so much noise.

These are just a few of the bespoke funeral tributes we created a few weeks ago, and I can honestly say I still absolutely love every single one of them. 🥹

And the crazy thing is… we had never made ANY of these before.

That’s the thing with bespoke work. Someone can come to us with an idea that we’ve never attempted before, and we’ll sit down, sketch it out, work out how on earth we’re going to make it and then put our heart and soul into bringing it to life in flowers.

As a florist, I take so much pride in our funeral work. If I’m totally honest, funeral flowers are probably the work I love doing the most. ❤️

Not because of the circumstances, of course, but because I understand just how important they are.

A funeral tribute is someone’s final farewell. It can represent their personality, something they loved, something they were known for, or simply a memory their family wants to capture one last time.

And there’s no second chance with funeral work. Once that tribute leaves our shop and goes to the funeral, we can’t bring it back and change something. It has to leave us knowing we have given it absolutely everything.

That’s why we fuss over the tiniest details, stand back and look at it 100 times change things if they don’t look quite right, and work together as a team until we’re completely happy with it.

And these three? I’m still incredibly proud of them weeks later. ❤️

So if you’re looking for something completely bespoke and you’re thinking, “I wonder if they could make this…” — please ask us.

We might never have made it before… but neither had we with these. ❤️

Every tribute tells a story, and it’s an absolute privilege when a family trusts us to help tell that story for their final farewell.

Well guys… WHAT A DAY I’ve had 😂

I arrived at the shop this morning and had THREE people sitting waiting for me.

Customers? Absolutely not.

THREE traffic wardens. 😂😂😂

Clearly thinking, “We’ll get the grumpy florist before 9:30 when she comes flying into that bus lane.”

NOT TODAY, HEN.

9:30 ON THE DOT I arrived. Not 9:29. Not a minute early. I was practically watching the second hand on the clock. 😂

Anyway… funeral going out today, absolutely nowhere to get parked, heavy tributes to get loaded into the van, so yes — the van was outside the shop while we loaded it.

Then along comes the number 44 bus…

Driver gives me THE LOOK. 👀

I gave him the look straight back.

Aye. It’s me. The grumpy florist. 🌸😂

At this rate I’m going to start making the traffic wardens a cup of tea in the morning because apparently they’re now part of the staff.

Day 473 of me versus the bus lanes continues… 😂

They’re buying their own because standards have gone up and patience has gone down. 😏
