myBearpaw is a craft class studio and specialist retailer which started inside Avery Homestore (one of Edinburgh's best independent home and craft retailers for over fifteen years). It has just moved to new premises in Edinburgh where Jo Avery will concentrate exclusively on her myBearpaw brand of sewing classes, fabric, wool and haberdashery.

I’m afraid this is the view from the shop window at the moment! I thought I should make you guys aware that they’re resurfacing Gilmore Place so the street directly outside the shop is closed. The 27 and 10 buses are also diverted along Colinton Road and through Bruntsfield. The road is meant to be closed on weekdays only and the roadworks will continue until Friday the 13th. Sorry for any inconvenience this causes!

Tomorrow, Saturday 20th December, will be our last open day before the holidays. We’ll be open from 10am to 5pm. The shop will reopen on Saturday 3rd January when our annual SALE will start in store, there will be 15% off everything as well as 25% and 40% off sections. The SALE will start online on Boxing Day. MyBearpaw will be taking part in the Tollcross Festive Shopping Event tomorrow Wednesday 3rd of December from 5pm to 8pm. We’ll have 10% off everything in the shop during our extra evening hours!
