A hard-fought and closely contested encounter in Arbroath saw Musselburgh Windsor come away with a valuable 1-0 victory against a strong Arbroath side.

The decisive moment came early in the first half when Harmony rose highest to head home from a corner after just eight minutes. Both teams then enjoyed spells of good football, with Musselburgh creating opportunities from set pieces and passages of neat build-up play, while Arbroath continually posed a threat going forward.

The second half was a real test of character, with Arbroath applying sustained pressure and forcing Musselburgh into plenty of defending. The visitors stood firm throughout, showing great resilience to protect the lead against a well-matched opponent. Arbroath came agonisingly close to an equaliser when an effort crashed off the crossbar, but Musselburgh dug deep to see the game out.

A tough and competitive match between two evenly matched sides ended with another important three points on the road, moving Musselburgh Windsor, for now, proudly to the top of the YPL table.

Musselburgh Windsor kicked off their 2026 league campaign in style yesterday afternoon with an impressive 6–2 victory over Falkirk, delivering a confident and commanding team performance from start to finish.

The Blues flew out of the blocks and were 3–0 up within the opening 20 minutes. Olivia’s corner created the opener, with Harmony reacting first to fire home. Minutes later, Harmony was at the heart of the action again when she won a penalty after being brought down in the box, and Olivia stepped up to convert confidently from the spot. Excellent passing and quick one-twos through Savannah, Olivia and Zoa then carved Falkirk open once more, allowing Olivia to grab her second with a composed finish.

Falkirk pulled one back after 23 minutes to remind Windsor that the game was far from over, but the girls responded positively and continued to move the ball well through the lines. Their pressure paid off again from another corner on 32 minutes, when a goalmouth scramble resulted in an unfortunate Falkirk own goal to make it 4–1. The visitors struck again just before half-time with a well-taken finish, leaving the score at 4–2 at the break.

Windsor came out for the second half determined to maintain their advantage, and the defensive line stood firm throughout. Nina, Lexi, Quinn and Laila were outstanding at the back, winning key tackles and driving the team forward to create further opportunities.

Just minutes into the second half, Callie broke through the defence and coolly slotted home Windsor’s fifth goal. The final goal of the afternoon came courtesy of Zoa, who drove to the byline, cut back inside brilliantly and finished confidently to seal a deserved 6–2 victory.

It was a dominant display from the Blues, full of excellent teamwork, intelligent decision-making and attacking football - the perfect way to begin the new league season. πŸ’™

We continued our Scottish Cup campaign with an early morning coach trip up the east coast to Stonehaven today where the sun was shining, against weather predictions.

Overall, a controlled, energetic and clinical performance from Musselburgh, with some great passing up the lines from front to back and with goals spread across the team.

We need to congratulate Stonehaven who, even until the final blow of the whistle pushed hard and stuck at it with a great attitude and never letting their heads go down. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and good luck for the rest of the season.

Well done Blues! Through to the next round πŸ’ͺβš½οΈπŸ†πŸ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ
