♥️🌺 Crimson Enchantment 🌺❤️
This piece began with red paint, a sponge and one very irritable human!
I’ve found myself overthinking and chasing perfection in my artwork throughout the majority of my life. On this day, I felt so worked up that I painted the canvas red and began layering different shades of red to help give texture.
Once I had finished the background, I suddenly stopped and didn’t know what to do with it.
I left it to dry and started a new painting… and by doing this, I started to reflect.
“Why is it so important for it to look perfect?, what would perfect even look like anyway?”
After starting to add detail and textures, I noticed I felt a freedom in my work that I haven’t expressed for a long time!
I can honestly say I’m so proud of this work - not because of the outcome, but the journey itself.
The lessons I am learning with my art are helping to shape the way I feel about myself and how to embrace the freedom art gives to us!
