‘Scarlett’

I dyed this yarn while I listened to a podcast about designer Bernat Klein. It’s by the Grainne Rice and I particularly loved hearing that Bernat was such a colour perfectionist that sometimes the textiles he produced had to match one specific leaf he’d found. He sounds like my kind of person! 👋

This colourway is strong, punchy and matches the rhododendrons in my garden. But it’s really inspired by his oil painting Scarlett II.

has designed a special shawl for and has encouraged us to create kits inspired by Bernat Klein’s use of colour - I hope this meets the brief!

I’ve dyed a brand new colourway that has been swirling around in my head for months.

I’ll be taking lots of different yarn bases in this colourway to but there’s also a Pre Order on the website so I can dye it on what ever yarn base you choose. (Delivery will be around mid June)

I’m currently dyeing as much stock as I can at the moment for these events. Please let me know in advance if there’s anything you’d like me to take with me. 😀

Unfortunately something has come up and I’m no longer able to attend the Inverness Woolfest on 20th & 21st June. Hope I can make it work next year though.

There will be no shipping from 4th - 20th July while I take a break for summer.

So many of us know that knitting isn’t just a hobby… it’s a pause, a comfort, a creative escape, and sometimes exactly what we need to feel a little calmer.

So if you’re casting on something new this week, this is your reminder that those stitches are doing more than creating something beautiful, they might just be taking care of you too.

You all know I love a new cast on when things get overwhelming. But who does it bother? Certainly not me. Do I feel guilty? Absolutely not!

It’s one of the ways I keep my mental health in check - something that I know I’ll always need to keep on top of.

This past year in particular has been a challenge for me but I know that there’s lots of support in our knitting community and it’s a tool we can all use to help when we can’t see a way out.

This mental health awareness month let’s look after each other 🥰

Last shop update for a while…

I’m dyeing lots of new yarn for upcoming shows, wholesale orders and the May Treat Box so it’ll be a while before the next shop update.

There might not have been much posting recently but I promise there’s been lots of yarn dyeing going on.

I’ve restocked the Silk and Suri yarn base (I’ve been calling it the wiggle base and it seems to have stuck)

I will add these to the website for tomorrow evening - but this will be the last stock update for a while as I prep for…
