Every made-to-measure shutter order follows a carefully managed process through our Worcestershire manufacturing facility.

From initial verification and production planning, through CNC cutting, assembly and quality control, right through to careful packing and delivery — every stage is managed by our team.

It’s all part of making sure each order leaves us exactly as it should: quality checked, carefully packed and ready for installation.

📣 TEMPORARY PRODUCTION OPERATIVE WANTED – EVESHAM

We’re looking for someone to join our team at British Made Shutters to provide additional cover during staff holidays and our busy production periods.

This would initially be a temporary position, with the possibility of further work during our busy period in the run-up to Christmas.

🔹 Production/factory-based role
🔹 Based in Evesham
🔹 Monday–Thursday
🔹 7am–5pm
🔹 Full training provided
🔹 Immediate/soon start available
🔹 No shutter experience necessary – we’re looking for someone reliable, hands-on and willing to learn

The role will involve helping across different areas of our shutter manufacturing process, including assembly, preparation, quality control and packing.

This could suit someone looking for temporary work over the next few months or someone wanting additional work leading up to Christmas.

It’s more than a name above our door.

Every made-to-measure order goes through our manufacturing process right here at our Worcestershire factory.

From CNC cutting and machining, marking out and preparation, through to assembly, finishing, fitting components, quality control and boxing.

We’re not importing a finished shutter and putting our name on it.

We’re manufacturing individual, made-to-measure shutters for our trade partners – right here in Worcestershire.

It gives us greater control over quality, flexibility and production, while allowing us to continually develop the product we’re manufacturing.

So when we say British Made Shutters, that’s exactly what we mean.

Not every shutter material is right for every home🏡

Hardwood shutters are a beautiful, premium product and perform exceptionally well in the right environment. However, because timber is a natural material, it reacts to changes in temperature and humidity.

We recently came across an installation in a period property where prolonged high humidity had contributed to the hardwood frame cracking over time. Factors such as condensation, limited ventilation and even multiple humidifiers can significantly increase moisture levels indoors.

That’s why choosing the correct material is so important.

For properties with consistently high humidity, older homes prone to condensation, bathrooms, kitchens or utility rooms, composite shutters are often the better choice. They won’t absorb moisture like timber, making them highly resistant to warping, swelling and cracking caused by damp conditions.

Not every shutter suits every room.

In a kitchen or bathroom, moisture is the enemy, so a composite or uPVC shutter that shrugs off damp makes sense. In a living room with big or bay windows, full height shutters give you clean lines and full control of the light. On a street-facing window, café style keeps privacy at eye level while the light pours in above. And in a bedroom, tier-on-tier lets you close the bottom and open the top.
