Probiotic pills vs home-brewed Kombucha?...Nowadays there's a pill for everything, Sleeping badly? Take this pill...Stressed? Eat 2 of these... Overweight? Here, have another pill.

Probiotics pills promise all manner of benefits. Best of all, you can 'fix' your gut without any extra effort. While probiotic supplements have proven benefits, the idea that there's a simple quick fix to gut health is probably oversold.

But improving your gut health doesn't have to be hard either. Good sleep, exercise and a balanced diet, supplemented with fermented foods and drinks is the best way to do it.

Consuming real fermented food and drink is also more effective than taking a pill. Probiotics are living cultures which need sugar and heat to survive. So a powdered probiotic supplement where the probiotics are dried and stored, may not deliver any live probiotics to where they're meant to be!

The best way to give your gut the support it needs is by incorporating natural fermented foods into your diet...oh, and it also tastes a little better too!
