Today is World Ocean Day, and we thought we’d mark it by showing you some of our beautiful sea glass jewellery collections! 🌊✨

Over decades, and even centuries, remnant glass has been smoothed and shaped by the powerful seas.

Of course, we’d rather it was never deposited at all, but it was. And all these years later, the surprise at finding a small glistening piece on your favourite beach, and turning it into something wearable and beautiful, is very special. 💍

Local jeweller Laura creates ready to buy sea glass jewellery, and holds workshops at Inspire Makers, so you can make your own. 😍

It’s crab sandwich season, or maybe I shouldn’t say that whilst showing you this artwork?! 🦀🦀🦀

This paper cut picture with a peeping crab, has been crafted by the talented Debs, a master of intricate paper cut artwork.

It’s finished with a soft white mount and white wood frame.

Each piece is unique and hand finished through the placement of each individual colour. 🎨

Having grown up by the sea, artist Cass Bisco is deeply connected to the coast. Her current work captures what it feels like to be in the water at a specific moment. 🌊

Whether being engulfed by a wave or experiencing the still calm offshore, she is compelled to make images that resonate with her physical and emotional sensations of immersion, the pull of the current, the shifting light, and the quiet exhilaration of being held by the sea.

Sometimes, getting a sense of which way’s up, or what direction land is, takes a moment. The feeling of resurfacing and seeing the world through the water can be beautiful. The light and distortions are fleeting and dream-like. This body of work captures her personal perception of those split seconds. ✨

We are overjoyed to have Cass taking over the gallery this month for her solo exhibition, pop in and see her wonderful work! 👋

This beautifully patterned porcelain mug has been wheel thrown by hand, by ceramicist Helen Harrison.

Once formed, the surfaces were treated with slips, oxides and decals to create a miniature landscape around the outside of the vessel, and indents were added with shore-found shells. 🐚

So much love and skill has been poured into this mug (pun intended!) - and it’s so beautiful.

Every spring we fall in love with daffodils all over again, and this year is no different. 💛

This lino print of daffodils took Claire a year to create from initial observational sketches to carefully cutting the lino, then refining the printing and colour mixing for each layer. A true work of art.

Claire’s prints capture the wild beauty of West Cornwall.
