Sunshine on a rainy day & a business announcement from me.

Going forwards I’m going to work seasonally, so flowers will continue until October & then start again April/May.

Don’t panic if you’ve a Wedding or Funeral as I will continue to cater for these all year round.

The same applies for Valentine’s Day & Mother’s Day.

Subscription flowers will also continue the last Friday of the month & there will occasionally be so keep an eye out for emails & subscribers you will hear first.

The last week has taught be lessons that I need to slow down more, so in the winter months I will be concentrating on workshops, seed sowing, admin & resting.

These workshops are hugely popular & sell out every year.

Design your own fresh Christmas wreath with Suffolk Flower Garden this festive season in my flower studio in Old Felixstowe.

You will learn how to create a mossed ring & we will be using a range of fresh foliage & dried material.

Make a truly bespoke wreath with your choice of materials & finish with a gorgeous velvet coloured ribbon.

Everything is included in the price of the workshop & spaces are limited to 10.

£60 per person.

Includes a glass of fizz, tea, coffee or hot chocolate & festive sweet treats

Lots of Flowers left the flower studio yesterday.

I had limited & again they didn’t get on the website, I had a waiting list.

So the last few days I’ve been tired from tree pruning & hedge trimming & just not had the time to do everything so not posted for a few days.

I’ve definitely learnt the hard way this week & just booked a tree surgeon for all other exhausting jobs in the garden.

It’s been hard to admit I can’t do everything but I am getting older & the trees have grown considerably & so it’s time to admit defeat & get help. (I’ve never been good at asking for help)

This garden jar was for an internment my client wanted local, seasonal flowers & got emotional when she saw them.

All homegrown & memorable.

Not sure if I’ll have Friday Flowers this week as lots of orders to process first, I’ll keep you updated

Flowers are definitely starting to look more autumnal as the seasons shift.

Love the hops in the vase arrangement for LN Aesthetics Skin and Health Clinic this week.

Today I’m pruning the buxus in the cutting garden, I actually like this job it’s very satisfying trimming your bush 🤣 sorry couldn’t resist.

A few orders to do first & then I’ll be in the cutting garden the rest of the day.

This Bank Holiday Weekend I’ve completely knackered myself out pruning my pleached trees.

On top of the 6ft wall armed with the hedge trimmer, I thought why am I actually doing this, when I could pay a tree surgeon. So lesson learnt and next year I will not be doing this as I can hardly move my arms today.

In fact I’m sat looking at the trees in the cutting garden & thinking, no Mel step away from the hedge trimmer and call a tree surgeon.

I definitely have the mentality I can do everything myself but realistically can’t or can but at the expense of something.

Life is all about balance & sometimes you learn things the hard way.

Leaving on a positive note, thank you, thank you, thank you to all my subscribers that stayed with me & tech issues last night when the Christmas Wreath Workshops went live.

Lots of flowers left the flower studio the weekend.

They are starting to look more autumnal in appearance & yesterday actually felt like Autumn!!! Although I was glad to see the rain as my garden needed a good soak.

It’s meant to stay dry today so my pleached trees are getting their annual haircut, & yes I love a garden power tool & no I rarely sit still.

Yesterday I mentioned Christmas & subscribers you should have had an email detailing when the workshops go live. Please check your junk & spam folders as they sometimes end up in there.
