Don't make the mistake some people do when they first find our brand.

Yes, we are making in the UK, it's not a marketing ploy, each light is hand crafted in your choice of finish, by our own makers in Folkestone. Mixing wood, metal and fabrics to suit your particular scheme. You can even book a visit to our workshops.

We don't have a minimum order quantity. You can order a single lampshade, but equally we are at home making large quantities for some of the world's best known hotel and restaurant interiors.

We are very affordable, not because of any sacrifice we make to the materials we use, or the attention we pay to creating the work, but because we don't have expensive showrooms or retailers demanding massive discounts. By you buying directly from us, the makers, we can reduce the delivery times, improve the price and offer customisations to suit your particular needs.

Serious respect to the team on finishing our biggest single order-to-date this month 👏

72x Cordless Rye table lights, each with a solid brass base, first polished, then aged and finally polished again to create the Antique brass finish. Then each shade is hand cut, pinned, stitched and given a tiny 5mm hem around the base of each one.

This work is more than just a table light, it is a customised and intentional piece of craft. Made with the client in mind and from skilled people from start to finish.

The role is part-time and Studio-based with a maximum of 28 hours per week. There is flexibility in how the final hours are spread, dependent for the successful candidate.

Natural materials were the starting point for our Makai wall light.
The textured woven finish of the Sinemay we use for the curved shade is a great covering, adding texture and warmth when both turned on and off. The sculptured wood fitting is made from FSC certified Beech and has a naturally warm pink hue.

The design is made up of circles and triangles, making a modernist form with a natural aesthetic, this is perfect for adding a contemporary edge to a traditional cottage or agricultural building.

Designed as a decorative poseable task light, to be wall or ceiling mounted and to add a level of detail and decoration in place of utilitarian spots. Due to its solid brass structure it is suitable for bathrooms as it will never rust and is IP21 rated so can be fixed anywhere that is more than 60cm from a water source, such as a tap.

On a quiet High street in the South of England a shop is being used in a very different way.

Our small team of skilled craftspeople, engineers and designers join to make a dynamic team that creates affordable luxury lighting. Upstairs in, what was a grocery store, is now our fabric room. A space dedicated to our lampshades, where we can roll out the Irish linen and stitch every one of our shades on one of the two vintage Singer sewing machines.

Downstairs, in a space that was once where the inventor John Logie Baird first experimented with television. 100 years later we now test, wire and assemble all of our lights before packing and shipping across the world with one of our three chosen courier partners.

This edition is packed with beautiful interiors inspired by nature, the outdoors and craft, so to spot our in the “Keepsakes” section is a real honour.

We are the busiest we have ever been this easter.

This week has felt incredible, perhaps it's the short week with Easter weekend behind us, but the workshop has never felt so busy, even Christmas seemed calm compared to this week. Both sewing machines have been running almost continuously and downstairs there has been a steady flow of wiring, metal work and soldering.

It's great, and we are so grateful to our clients for their continued support in what we do. We promise, we have a lot more in store this year, with our new brochure layouts being drafted and new equipment being installed. Watch this space,

The Makai wall light is a beautifully simple form, featuring carved FSC graded Beech, and a curved shade from woven Sinemay. The light is customisable in four different wooden finishes and six different shade coverings, making it incredibly versatile to suit a range of interiors.

We have chosen Aged teak wood stain and Natural Sinemay shade to work against the faded rusty orange walls. The Aged teak works beautifully well against this colour and above the Elm mid century drinks cabinet.

We started designs back in September, 2026 and thrilled to be able to share our latest work for Spring 2026

Our new Ardenne chandelier is inspired by the distinctive Flemish chandeliers of the 17th Century. The name Ardenne stems from the region in Belgium which is famed for these iconic chandeliers, characterised by a large central ball and scrolling arms. Elegant in form Ardenne belies a timeless style to fit both grand and humble interiors.
