NO ROBOTS WERE USED IN OUR LATEST BROCHURE

AI continues to impress and terrify us, it is incredible and some of the images it creates are very convincing, even the videos can lure me in. So how do we try to show that what you see here and on our website really is what you are going to receive?

For our latest brochure I wanted to showcase our popular Henley wall light with a switch, which I think makes a beautiful bedside lamp, problem is we don't have a bed in the workshop! So Katrin made up a section of the headboard, Amy made the light and I took the photograph, oh and the hand model? That's Nick, our newest team member, we will introduce him properly soon!

We would love to hear your opinions on seeing the rawness of the shoot, or do you prefer the camera data overlaid , like in the final image? If you like the image you prefer we can put it to a vote.

The last time I visited Mallorca, I was 7 years old on my very first flight. My strongest memories? A breakfast buffet serving hot dogs (which felt incredible at the time), matching shell suits with my sister because they were apparently the future of clothing technology, and every adult dramatically over-pronouncing "Sangria", a family tradition that somehow lives on today.

Fast forward a few decades, and Mallorca was a completely different experience. This time I was there to visit a project we've completed in Sóller and meet our client transforming old buildings into beautiful homes across the island.

It was a four-day trip, with the first two spent exploring Palma. Here are a few highlights...

After months of working on our new brochure, we came to a road block.

We could not agree on the cover! After an incredible summer, we have been feeling chilled and wanted to lead with the sky blue cover with our Camber pendant and Chapelle table lights overlooking Folkestone harbour. But now the autumn is coming and after we created some gorgeous warm photos of the Chapelle surrounded by wood panelling we began to lean towards browns, damsons and dark green.

Which would you prefer to have on your desk? We honestly would love to hear your thoughts and feel free to DM or comment if you would like to be one of the first to receive the finished book, which will be ready by the 1st October.

The key to a successful lighting scheme is making use of any architectural details and dark niches. A spot light positioned in these areas is a great way to create drama and accentuate any moldings or panelling on the walls. We used our Orphir pendant on hessian cord to create this stunning effect. This would also work well as an alternative to bedside lighting.

Ever wondered how we create the lifestyle photos for our lights?
This is definitely one of the most important assets for a successful product launch and therefore can be one of the hardest to get right. But after 8 years we have a proven formula;
1. Select the lights and the finishes they need to be photographed in (we offer a range of finishes and can't photograph every combination. so sometimes some finishes aren't represented in the brochure, which, we need to fix)
2. Next we think of how an interior designer would use the light and the style / colours of the interior that would best suit the material finishes we need to photograph
3. Then the tricky bit, we scour the local shoot houses, ask friends and family of amazing spaces that could work and make contact with the locations.
4. Pack up the lights and head to site, we have a number of tricks to photograph the lights working in the room without making a single mark. If you would like to know these drop a comment and we can make a follow up video showing some of the best.

In 2019 we made 9 bespoke pendants for the Hoxton hotel in Holborn. Seven years later and they still look fantastic.
