Bit of a different post from me today.
As some of you may or may not know, we bought an old 1905 Victorian house 3 years ago and boy is she the gift that keeps on giving 🙃
We have a lot of tired old wooden windows and this one near the back of the house was very rotten and held together with thick gloss paint 😬. I called around to get some quotes but many people ghosted me as were not interested in replacing only one window. They wanted a whole house to make it worthwhile. The few people who did actually quote were ridiculously high, with one quoting £2200 😱 This window is only approximately 55 x 95cm!
So, during the summer I put my big girl brave pants on and decided to tackle it myself! I chiselled away the old rotten wood, removed the beading and replaced with new wood, beading, filler and painted. Is it perfect? Absolutely not but it is in far better condition now and only cost me £40!
It is amazing what you can achieve when you put your mind to it. Glad the sculpture skills I learnt at art college are now paying off 😂
