I’m Sally, an artist based at Black Swan Arts in Frome. I work mainly in emulsion and watercolour, creating detailed and whimsical images of nature and rural scenes, and the quiet moments of connection we find in nature. My work often weaves together themes of ecology and creativity, drawing inspiration from the resilience and beauty of nature and our spaces in it. On this page I’ll be sharing new artwork, behind-the-scenes glimpses from my studio, and updates about exhibitions and projects. I spent an inspiring morning with the lovely people at Heal Somerset and Somerset Wildlife Trust learning about the incredible changes taking place as the land regenerates - thank you! I couldn’t believe how green it is in the beaver-created wetland, in spite of the temperatures we’ve been having. Just goes to show what can happen when nature is allowed to take its course 🌱
