In 1934, Cincinnati Floor Company were commissioned to supply and install the Teak herringbone floor at the Henry Ford Museum. Each piece of the herringbone floor measured 75mm wide and 460mm long. It was estimated at the time that the finished floor would cover 26000m2, approximately 6 acres. However when the floor was finished, CFC, confirmed it actually spanned a whopping 36800m2, 8.5 acres. That’s over 1 million Separate blocks. It was at the time, and remains today the world’s largest Teak floor. Featured floor, Tectona Grandis (HB), New to our Botanical Garden Collection.

As far as exotic hardwoods go, Morado is a truly stunning choice. Often referred to as Bolivian or Santos Rosewood, Morado varies in colour from medium brown, dark violet, black and purple.
