WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON?! 😂🤦♀️
Being a wholesale supplier of craft blanks is apparently an extreme sport these days!
I try to source the best possible products directly from factories, at the lowest prices I can, so my customers can make a living too.
But apparently, here’s what everyone expects:
📦 The wholesaler: Perfect blanks, factory prices, no defects, cheap shipping, immediate delivery and endless patience.
🛍️ The retailer: Perfect quality, bargain prices, free postage, instant dispatch and discounts on top.
🎨 The handmade customer’s customer: A beautifully personalised, handmade product that looks like it’s rolled straight off a million-pound production line. Not a mark, blemish or imperfection in sight. Delivered immediately, with free shipping… and preferably for less than the cost of the materials!
And somewhere in between, we’re all expected to absorb the rising costs, put up with unrealistic expectations, agitation, poor attitudes and downright rudeness.
Here’s a little reminder:
Wholesale isn’t charity.
Small businesses aren’t Amazon.
Handmade doesn’t mean mass-produced.
Free postage isn’t actually free.
And behind every small business is a real person trying their best to make a living.
Have we all forgotten how business works, or has the cost of living made everyone forget their manners too?! Has the ideal AI made us all think that’s how products should arrive?
Because honestly… WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON? 🤣🤷♀️
