Just seen these two fires which we sold a few years ago in their new home, looking great in a little Georgian house in the east neuk of fife. The big stone one was found in the garage of a house in Helensburgh I remember. Perfect with a woodburner

One front door, or a pair of double doors, we should have something to suit, ironmongery-wise. Just polished these beauts up

A few of the best doors we got last week, some cracking pitch pine front double doors, stored in a shed for about 50 years, roughly 7 feet tall by 4 wide and 2.5 inches thick, even still has the key. Also a pair of internal double doors, ideal as room dividers and finally, who could resist a 'housemaids closet' door.

More bits and bobs from our latest visit including a couple of nice old wash basins, getting hard to find a 1920's WC, even harder to find and some timber pillars from a Victorian porch, pretty much everything except the proverbial kitchen sink

Well it's with a heavy heart we have to say goodbye to the lovely Suzanne at the end of this week who's off to pastures new. I'm sure there are more than a few people who she's been super helpful to over the , jeez, more than the 10 years she's been with us. We will surely miss her and if any of our regular customers want to say cheers, feel free to give her a glowing review which she surely deserves

Well here we are then. A fair few books rescued from oblivion. I'll try and reply to people tomorrow, but I'm tired now and it's been a long day- there was more than a couple of boxes of books to strip out after all...

10 Oct update
We are aware of last night's large fire on south st. We're not entirely sure of the current situation, we assume we can still access our end of south street as the fire was at the other end but if in doubt, please call 01419581113 after midday, when we open
And just to be safe, maybe approach from the Yoker end or via Balmoral street

Ah, how sad.
Great books and happy memories of when my children were younger. Who didn't like Biff and Chip books?
All abandoned in a derelict school. We're starting this job next week and I'll try and save a few sets for the free libraries round my way
