🎃👻 HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM CALIBUR! 👻🎃

The streets are full of wee monsters tonight, but trust us, we’ve seen some window and door installations that are even scarier! 😱

Whether you’re out guising with the wee ones, enjoying a few drinks or hiding from the trick-or-treaters, have a cracking Halloween! 🎃

Just remember, the only chills you should feel tonight are from the scares, not your windows and doors! 🥶🤣

Stay safe and enjoy yourselves, folks! 💙

We’re absolutely flat out the door here at Calibur just now, but we managed to squeeze in this stunning wee Hurst door installation over in Giffnock last week, and what a belter it turned out 🤌🏼😍

Trish was looking to get rid of her old, cold and draughty timber door, which was a lovely door in its own right by the way, but unfortunately had next to no thermal properties left to offer 🥶

So out with the old and in with this beautiful new Hurst Doors composite door, bringing a fresh new look, improved security and a massive upgrade in thermal efficiency!

One thing Trish was particularly keen on was retaining as much of the original surrounding timberwork as possible, keeping everything in character with the traditional style and charm of her bungalow 🏡

And we were more than happy to oblige! Next stop is the painter, who’s coming along to give the surrounding paintwork a wee freshen up and finish everything off nicely 🎨👌🏼

As we’ve mentioned recently, we’re completely booked up for the foreseeable future with our current commitments, but don’t let that stop you from dropping us a message to see what we can do for you! Our diary is filling up nicely into 2027, so the earlier you get in touch, the better 📅

🎅 2026 IS OFFICIALLY FULLY BOOKED! 🔴

If you’re looking to get anything done before the fat man gets here, I’m afraid you’ve had it because we are stowed out the door here 😂🎄

We’re officially wall to wall for the remainder of 2026, with our diary now completely full!

And we’re not slowing down anytime soon! 2027 is already filling up fast, with some fantastic projects booked in from January right through to March, and more enquiries coming in every week

As much as we’d love to accommodate everybody, unfortunately there are only so many hours in the day, and we’d never compromise on the quality of our workmanship just to squeeze another job in ❌

So, if you’re thinking about new windows, doors, a conservatory conversion, extension or any of the other services we offer, please get in touch as early as possible to secure your place in our diary and avoid disappointment

A massive thank you to all our customers, past, present and future, for continuing to put your trust in team Calibur 💙

Your support and recommendations genuinely mean the world to us, and we’re incredibly grateful to be kept so busy!

Well, doors really don’t come much better than this, do they? Absolute classic 👌

We fitted the windows here a few weeks ago, and the customer wanted a real centrepiece to finish off the front of the property

What better way to do it than with one of our Palladio doors 🤌🏼

This is the Georgian solid door in Bog Oak, finished with gold ironmongery, and it absolutely oozes class. Proper solid door too.

And just look at that wood grain 😍

Government says white van men need to start using bikes in the city…

Aye nae bother. Calibur are already trialling the new fleet. 😂

Zero emissions. Maximum payload. Questionable braking distance

Not sure how we’re getting an Ultraroof on the back yet, but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

UK Government - tell me you’ve never ran a business without telling me you’ve never ran a business. What a shower of inept clowns! 🤡

“Which roof should we go for, and why?” 🤔

One of the biggest questions we get asked at Calibur.

The answer depends on how you want to use the room, how much natural light you want and the overall look you’re after.

⚔️ Classic Glass Roof

Bright, open and full of natural light. Modern glazing gives far better comfort and insulation than older conservatory roofs.

⚔️ Livinroof

A mix of solid insulated sections and glass, giving you more warmth and a room-like feel while still keeping plenty of light.

⚔️ Ultraroof

One of our most popular options. A lightweight tiled roof with excellent insulation, a plastered ceiling and the option to add full-length glass panels.

⚔️ Ultraframe Flat Roof

A modern, highly insulated option, ideal for extensions and conversions. Add an Ultrasky lantern or rooflights to bring in more natural light.

⚔️ Polycarbonate Roof

The more affordable option, but it doesn’t offer the same comfort or insulation as glass or solid roofing systems.

Not sure which one suits your home? We’ll talk you through the options and help you choose the right roof for how you actually use the space.

This one feels a little different

Our official membership pack from The Guild of Master Craftsmen landed today, so it’s now properly official.

I’ve posted plenty over the years about awards, reviews, accreditations and milestones, and I’m proud of every one of them. But I quite like what this one stands for.

Craftsmanship.

It’s basically the whole reason I started Calibur in the first place.

I wanted to build a business where the person speaking to the customer is also the person measuring the job, ordering it, fitting it and standing behind the finished result, not subcontracting jobs out and having no control of the finished product

No conveyor belt of jobs. No disappearing salesman. No passing the responsibility onto somebody else.

Just doing the job properly and putting your own name to it.

So seeing Calibur Glass & Glazing Ltd printed on a Guild of Master Craftsmen certificate is a pretty satisfying wee moment

The certificate will be going up in the office 👊🏼

The standards stay exactly where they’ve always been.

And after 25 years on the tools 🤫 , it’s pretty nice to be officially recognised as a craftsman.
