We’re just one day away from welcoming you to the **Opening Evening** at **77 Hanson Street**! Not only will you get to explore Glasgow’s thriving art scene, but you’ll also have a chance to win a **£60 voucher** to spend with one of the talented artists in our studio! 🎁

Also Opening their doors will be Pulp.

Pulp is a hand papermaking arts workshop which provides tuition and
collaborative projects for experienced artists and makers, as well as
those beginning to explore this versatile medium. A variety of
activities are held within the space, including weekend and day courses
which focus on hand papermaking, artist books and related media. PULP
aims to encourage creative participation from all walks of life in a
studio which offers space, good accessibility and a comfortable working
environment.

Alison @ PULP works within the settings of visual art, environmental
awareness, healthcare and creative learning experiences, combining a
deep interest in biology, nature and art through the medium of paper as
a therapeutic activity, focus for sustainability and art practice.

The workshop will be open to visitors on all advertised days with
demonstration of papermaking in progress.

Are you interested in alternative photographic processes? If so check out Malcolm Dobson in Studio 125.

Malcolm is currently working with camera camera-less photography, using the cyanotype process. This is one of the oldest forms of photography, using a solution of two chemicals and UV light. In his studio Malcolm will be working through the whole process, and will also have cyanotype and greeting cards for sale.

We will also have several artists providing demonstrations, either within their studio or the main foyer on the ground floor.

If you are interested in the screen printing process the check out Joanna Kinnersly-Taylor's studio on either Saturday 26th or Sunday 27th October at 3pm.

Joanna will be talking about her creative journey and showing examples of the various stages of the screen-printing process. This includes artwork, colour recipes for dye and print, and sampling. She will also demonstrate printing on linen and discuss how she layers her prints to achieve depth and nuance.

Also opening their doors will be Emma Jo Webster, studio 207.

Emma Jo Webster is a Master Tapestry weaver well know in her field nationally and internationally. A colourist weaver she is known for her colourful abstracts as well as her skilfully woven fine portraits.

As well as her own practice here in Glasgow Emma Jo weaves for Dovecot Studios in Edinburgh.

Another of our artists opening their doors is Catherine Lowe.

Catherine is a Glass Artist working in the Glasgow Glass Studio at Hanson Street. She also has a small studio for teaching fused glass classes and workshops.

Catherine is inspired by the landscape and seascape of the Outer Hebrides where life was ruled by the dual forces of weather and sea. She strives to encapsulate the many moods of the sea and beach in her fused glass. Her most predominant work is her Hebridean Collection comprising of jewellery, coaster, platters, plates, bowls and light panels. Each pieces handmade and kiln fired two or three times to create the delicate reactions that help depict the sea and the waters edge.

Catherine runs small workshops and more information can be obtained from her website at www.catherinelowe.co.uk.

Pop into her new workshops space which is just to the left of the main front door and say hello.
