It’s been an exciting few days prepping for my very first formal learning journey in the world of art here in my lil corner in Glasgow.

Until now my art has been mainly self taught with the joy that has been YouTube and various leisure art clubs.

Now to learn properly and be more disciplined to finish projects.

Wow, what a day…
I was asked earlier today by Linda about my favourite artist and designer.
Some of you will know who it is :
a Glasgow icon who has a bronze statue located at the corner of Argyle Street, St Vincent Street, and Elliot Street, sitting right on the boundary between the Anderston and Finnieston.

Do you know who it is yet?

The sculpture depicts him sitting in a high-backed chair.
His 100th anniversary is 2 short years away.
A clue- watercolour may have been his favourite but his success may years after his death was fantastic architecture found in and around our city.

Another clue is he was married to an exceptional artist in her own right….

Final clue, an example of his work developed many decades later can be found in the grounds of Bellahouston Park.

Here is my charcoal attempt of a portrait of the great man who also shares my bedroom wall.

I was today years old when learned that sheep can swim.
I’ve never saw a sheep swim, and honestly thought the wool coat would see most of them drown.
How wrong I was.
Still learning random things.
