This week the focus is on Penny Gaj as Maker of the Week. Penny stocks a wide range of cards and prints in the Gloucestershire Arts and Crafts Centre.

As an artist with over 20 years experience Penny uses a great colour combinations and textures in her prints. Penny’s pictures are of imaginary country scenes and trees and each of her pictures has its own story.

Come on in to the Gloucestershire Arts and Crafts Centre to see the whole range of Penny‘s work. While you are there please feel free to have a look around at the work by other the Gloucestershire makers who also sell their work in the shop. Our opening hours are

The Maker of the Week spotlight this week is on Paul Heckford. Paul produces wonderful wood and resin furniture, clocks and coasters. Paul was a Forestry Manager and who moved into Arboriculture. After a work accident Paul completed a Fine Furniture course and has been a Maker for 5 years.

There is a range of Paul‘s furniture in the Gloucestershire Arts and Crafts Centre so why not pop in and see what he has been making recently. About 40 artists from Gloucestershire have their work in the shop so feel free to have a browse while you are visiting.

Are you ready for a new creative adventure? Have you been looking for a new hobby to try out? If so this list of the workshops being held at Gloucestershire Arts and Crafts Centre in September is for you.

You can join us to try, or continue to do, linocutting, decorating a wooden duck, printing a design on a tote bag, weaving on a loom, making your own lip balm, knitting a triangular scarf, making a fused glass project, crochet, batik, willow weaving or mosaic art.

This week the Maker of the Week at Gloucestershire Arts and Craft Centre is Magalie from Magalie Briand BrilliantMagpieBookbinding.com . Magalie makes the most beautiful notebooks - some of which are covered with her own handprinted paper. She also makes other book related products such as miniature book earrings and offers regular bookbinding workshops. At the workshop you will have the opportunity to make your own small notebook and learn some of the basic techniques of bookbinding. A very satisfying experience.

A new week means a new Maker of the Week at Gloucestershire Arts and Craft Centre. The maker this week is Katie .

Katie paints nature inspired art of a variety of subjects in different sizes. Katie‘s work is wonderfully colourful and she also has a range of cards using prints from her pictures.

Why not pop into the shop to see Katie‘s prints in person. While you are there you are welcome to have a look around at the work by the other artists who have their work in the shop.

Are you a maker in any of the areas shown and do you live in Gloucestershire? Then Gloucestershire Arts and Crafts Centre in Gloucester may be the place for you to showcase your work.

Gloucestershire Arts and Crafts Centre supports over 35 artists who live within Gloucestershire to display and sell their art and craft. There are currently a couple of spaces available for new artists. The shop is staffed by the artists and sells a large variety of different art /crafts. There is also a studio space for artists to use when running workshops in their preferred discipline.

This week‘s Maker of the Week is Abby. As you may have guessed Abby‘s skill lays mainly crochet although she does macrame as well. Abby has made a variety of tops, bags and cushions in a variety of colours. Abby also makes the most wonderful lifelike flowers and plants. No watering needed in this hot weather. 😅

Abby will also make items to order if the piece you are looking for is not available.

Please pop into Gloucestershire Arts and Crafts Centre to see Abby‘s stock. While there why not have a browse around the work by the other artists as well.
