After a few weeks batterling illness and operations my sewing projects have had to take a back seat but I’m hopefully going to be back up and running soon.

That being said it’s such a nice feeling when I finish a custom made order for someone ❤️ some of you may remember a few months back I took to my biggest memory item ever! I made a patchwork sofa arm chair for a lovely Forster carer out of all the children’s clothing she has helped over the years ❤️ last weekend I finally finished the biggest memory blanket I have ever made for her too. So much prep goes on behind the scenes with a project this big….. measurements are key so measuring and cutting out all the shapes takes a lot of time not to mention lining each patch in interfacing 🤪 because I was given sooo many wonderful items of clothing I was able to create a three…. Sometimes even four layer blanket.
I had the freedom to be as creative as I wanted from stars to squares to circles….from a home made Halloween costume of charlottes web to favourite T-shirts and baseball caps. X

Many many hours of hard work went into achieving this so I wanted to share it with you all and hope you like it as much as I do xx please share if you can to help get my name out there xx

Last weekend I attended my first ever sewing course ( patchwork staycation ) Flamin’Goodcrafts

as you can imagine I was super nervous 🙈

I’m at that chapter in my life where my children are no longer children…. I’m currently living in a house with three alpha males 😬🤣 so to be out the house chatting to people who love making as much as me was truly lovely ❤️ Sarah who ran the course was not only very lovely but she also has a great teaching experience 🥰 everyone made me feel very welcome and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed just what I needed after a stressful week.

I enjoyed myself that much I will most certainly be joining as a member and popping in and out depending on my illness. If your feeling a little lost with this new chapter in your life and you love making…… I strongly recommended taking some time for yourselves and get yourself down to the shop for some well deserved you time…..away from the house work….and all the noise.

For my first project I decided I wanted to make my little god daughter a hand quilted bag I’m super chuffed with how it came out what do you all think 🥰

As it was my first time attending I wasn’t comfortable taking pictures of people incase they like their privacy but I did take a few over the weekend to give you a sense of how well organised and thought out the weekend was and the food from dollys was amazing ❤️ Dolly's Vintage Tea Rooms

Very much looking forward to November when I next have pennies to official and becoming one of the crazy crew 🤣

Opinions!!!!

I’m running my first proper stall in November at fort brockhurst and I’d love to know what you all think I should make?

Do I go big and make detailed things? Christmas bears, quilted wreaths…

Or small and pocket money price? Zip purses, bunting, badges

Anything you noticed sells well? Or would love to see me make? Added points for photo comments for inspiration lol

For those who have been to craft fairs before or ran them….any tips? Any advice?

I’m so excited 🥰 today is phase one….. plan and design ❤️

On days like today….. nothing excites me more then the rain falling whilst I’m curled up in the art room feeling very creative 🥰

Some people think logically….some people solve problems mathematically. … for me it’s all about creativity ❤️ I wish people could see what’s my mind shows me 🤪 I know I’m a little bit bonkers but I can look at an empty cereal box or a tube and think of 100 things to make with it 🤣

So excited to announce this week I get a confirmation email of my place running my first stall at fort brockhurst Christmas festival ❤️❤️❤️

My mind is going wild with ideas of what to make…. From fabric trees to wreaths and mini fairy’s I will of course be making some of my normal best sellers of Santa and reindeers 🥰 all ideas welcomed so if you have seen something cute on Pinterest or adverts that you think I will be able to achieve please let me know. I don’t usually do stalls or fairs as with memory keepsakes they are custom made 😬 but who doesn’t love a Christmas bear from Santa? And I can always take leaflets and business cards to show people what I can do should they want a custom made keepsake in the future 🤷🏻‍♀️

From all you clever people who run stalls any tips? Or tricks? Do you go low with prices or keep them at there true value? I appreciate any advice xx Fort Brockhurst
