We have been pleased to be here this week to welcome visitors to the region at this very trying time. We hope that they found some Highland hospitality in our lovely town. We are continuing to stay stocked with all the hardware, DIY and kitchen essentials needed as well as mementos and souvenirs (we are conscious that visitors have come from far and wide this week 🇨🇦 🇺🇸 🇦🇺 🇯🇵 🇨🇱 🇫🇷 🇩🇪 and for some it is the holiday of a lifetime).
We are very saddened by the continuing fire at Cairngorm and the surrounding areas and our hearts go out to all those who have been evacuated. We are currently housing an evacuee so have another teenager in the house which we are all very pleased about. It is our pleasure to help in this very small way.
Our thanks, to echo our whole community, go out to all the firefighters, volunteers, farmers, gamekeepers and contractors who are risking themselves day after day to keep us all safe. 🦸
We will be making a donation to our local fire station and there will be a collection box in the shop should anyone else wish to contribute too.
We will continue to be open next week and are glad that Grantown is currently a safe and welcoming area of Strathspey where visitors and locals can enjoy some refreshments, some shopping and walk round the historical town. We are always happy to see anyone who calls in.
