Your New Floor

Quick-Step Classic, fitted throughout 🏡
We’ve just finished this flat in Gravesend, with Quick-Step Classic laminate laid through the hall, lounge and kitchen. It runs as one continuous floor from room to room, with no breaks at the doorways.

We handled all the awkward jobs too. We moved the heavy electric reclining sofa, and we trimmed every internal door so each one opens cleanly over the new floor. We also trimmed the kitchen plinths to allow for the new flooring to slide under for a neat finish. You see these finishing touches every day, so we take care over ensuring they are right.

Thinking about laminate for your home? Come and see the full Quick-Step range in our Gravesend showroom. Borrow samples and try them in your own light.

That's why we're proud to introduce our brand-new website.

It has been a pleasure working with the team at Uniek Digital to create a website that truly reflects who we are and how we work.

The new site is packed with useful information, making it easy to explore flooring options, learn about our services and get answers to common questions. Navigation is simple, helping you find exactly what you're looking for without wasting time.

One of our favourite features is the ability to visualise flooring in your own home. Seeing different styles and colours in your space makes choosing the right floor much easier and gives you greater confidence in your decision.

You'll also get to know the people behind the business. From our showroom team to our highly skilled fitters, we're proud of the people who make Your New Floor what it is.

Seeing a floor in person makes all the difference.

Our Gravesend showroom is the largest independent flooring showroom in town, we're family run and we've been trading since 2003. Come and see hundreds of samples from names like Amtico, Quick-Step, J2 Flooring, Karndean, Floorify, Westex, Abingdon and Cormar. There’s luxury vinyl, laminate, engineered wood and carpet, all under one roof.

Take your time, feel the textures and see how each floor looks in real light. If you can’t decide, borrow a few samples and try them at home. When you’re ready, we’ll come and measure up for free, and our own fitters will do the job from start to finish.

With Christmas coming and family visits on the way, this is exactly the time of year when people start looking at their hallway, living room or kitchen floor and thinking "that needs sorting before everyone comes round." If that's you, now's the time to start rather than leaving it until December, since a proper job means measuring, ordering and fitting done properly, not rushed.

Whether it's a tired carpet that's seen too many Christmases already or a kitchen floor that could do with a refresh before the cooking and the crowds arrive, pop into the showroom and have a look at what's on offer. Our team can talk you through what will actually work for your home and your timeframe, so you're not still living with dust sheets on Christmas Eve.

Book in now and there's still time to have it looking its best before the big day.

With the clocks about to go back and the heating creeping back on, we've had a few customers in the showroom asking the same question this week... can you actually fit LVT over underfloor heating?

The answer is yes, and it's actually one of the better options for it. Unlike carpet, which acts as an insulator and can trap the heat before it ever reaches the room, LVT is thin and conducts warmth well, so the floor heats up faster and more evenly without wasting energy trying to push through it.

It's not quite as simple as just laying it down over your existing system, though. The adhesive has to be one rated for underfloor heating, the flooring needs time to acclimatise to the room before fitting, and the heating itself has to be brought up gradually once it's installed rather than switched straight to full power, or the floor can react to the sudden change in temperature. It's exactly the kind of detail that's easy to miss if you're fitting it yourself or going with whoever's cheapest, and it's why we always talk it through properly before recommending anything.

If you're planning ahead for winter and weighing up your options, come in and have a chat with the team or give us a call, and we'll walk you through what would work best for your home and your heating system.

When it comes to fitting flooring, getting the small details right matters.

From careful preparation and accurate cuts to neat edges, joins and finishing touches, every part of the installation contributes to the finished floor.

At Your New Floor, we don’t cut corners.

Our directly employed fitting team takes pride in doing the job properly, using their experience and skills to give your flooring the finish it deserves.

Because a great floor isn’t just about the product you choose. It’s about how it’s fitted too.
