I’m like a bus… you don’t see me for ages, then i show up on repeat on BBC Money for Nothing in high definition 😳🤣🤣

By far the trickiest transformation i’ve attempted for the show, filmed a couple of years ago. Acrylic paint poured surface, a hazardous technique I don’t recommend using on large bits of furniture unless you’re feeling reckless🤣

The show aired on Monday this week (series 19, episode 2) link to iplayer in my bio ⬆️ and I was kindly alerted to it by the lovely Emma Brooks who shared a screen grab of my giant head on her wide screen telly 🤣🤣 Too funny!!

Anyhoo, despite much whinging on my part throughout filming, it ended up just as i hoped, and was snapped up by the most fabulous buyers…

Check out Wild Welsh Treehouses ! Incredible luxury eco-tree house accommodation in North Wales… it looks absolutely perfect in its new home. I will definitely be booking a stay there!!!

There are no rules to wearing pearls. of course there aren’t ! 🤓… but here my own guidelines on how I style up this most elegant of adornments…

1. Forget the rules.
Pearls don’t need twinsets, weddings or special occasions. Wear them with denim, tailoring, band tees — whatever feels like you.

2. Choose imperfect.
I like my pearls like I like my friends: real, individual, irregular and a little flawed. Baroque pearls have character precisely because they’re not identical.

3. Clash, don’t coordinate.
Mix pearls with chunky rings, vintage pieces, silver, gold, semi-precious stones — even something slightly grungy. Unexpected is more interesting than matching.

4. Wear them in daylight.
Big pearls with a casual daytime look feel far more modern to me than saving them for “best”. The more overdressed the pearl, the more I like dressing everything else down.

5. Style the person, not the trend.
Don’t ask whether pearls are fashionable. Ask whether you love them. Jewellery should say something about the person wearing it — otherwise it’s just decoration.

From fashion PR, to furniture artist… and back again to fashion 😉

Over 10 years I built a business around vintage furniture artistry and interiors. I painted cabinets, designed spaces, sourced treasures and reimagined them for hundreds of wonderful customers!

Rewind to 90s London, working in PR with fashion fashion & beauty brands like MAC, London Fashion Week and Selfridges. I loved watching designers, makeup artists & session stylists backstage, the shows, celebs, models, the buzz and the gossip!

Fast forward… babies, a move north, more PR, and a gradual drifting into hands on furniture painting.

I hope I imbued some of that eclectic energy into my commissions, but the truth is, creativity rarely stays in one place forever. It changes shape.

Jewellery feels like a natural evolution rather than a departure. I’m still drawn to vintage, unusual forms, imperfect materials, rich colour and the idea that one beautiful thing can inspire a whole scheme.

Every piece has either been created as a one-off or produced only in very small numbers. I want them to feel rare rather than endlessly available.

For now, they won’t be sold online. Instead, I’m choosing to support independent retail businesses with physical shops! My collection is sold through the fabulous Trove Home Collective in the Cotswolds. So far, pieces have flown out with almost no PR. But now it’s time to step up my game 💪🏾

Everything is made in a mix of oxidised sterling silver, 18 carat plated gold and a myriad of semi precious gemstones and pearls. Prices from £75 to £250.

So, while the scale may have changed, the intention remains exactly the same: to show case beautiful things with a unique style inspired by my love of vintage and glamour.

It’s a new season of BBC Money For Nothing! This little console was competed for the show a couple of years ago, but has only just aired. 🤓🙌🏽🕺🏽

Honestly, i never know which pieces are being shown next 🤣 but i remember this being among several tribal inspired redesigns, which I still love to this day.

It was sold to a lovely couple in Surrey in the most gorgeous house, which i delivered to in person en route to another job.

My mother watched it on catch up yesterday, and fell asleep 😴 🤣🤣 (i’ve got the evidence, may show on stories 🤣) so if you too are looking for a soporific viewing experience, i’ve linked the episode in my bio. Series 18 episode 4.

If i could only show you what this little hand painted & embellished bureau piece looked like when the BBC Money for Nothing show rescued it from impending death by landfill 😳😳😳🤯🤣

But sadly i can’t, because that would ruin the premise of the show 🤣

All i’ll say is those lovely rustic legs I hacked off an old Indian coffee table were a game changer 🙌🏽

Now i’ve got a legless table top to deal with 😉🤪

Moroccan doors were my primary inspiration, and when i flick through my photo library, I realise I developed the obsession on my first visit to Marrakech 17 years ago. Every visit, i photograph doors 😍

The colour palette and texture was influenced by my recent commissions at Le Mirage hotel in Tangier. J’adore!!!!!

This super practical bureau would make a fabulous home office, or even a drinks cabinet. I left the hole in the back for cables, but you could easily pop a mirror in the back for cocktail vibes.

Berber meets Aztec vibes for my latest BBC Money for Nothing commission, now available to buy via the show 🙌🏽

This was a gorgeous original piece, even before the hand painted design! A Victorian mahogany cabinet, with the original glazing in tact.

If you’re familiar with my work, you’ll know i’ve channelled tribal design on several occasions, both in my own home and for commission pieces.

i love this earthy, safari palette, basically because it works in most interior schemes, and offers an alternative to animal print, another classic “neutral” !

I wanted it to look vaguely folkloric, but only as a reference. I was more inspired by vintage berber ceramics than furniture, so i hope i’ve achieved a unique, modern fusion in the process.

Watching the news about people’s lives being devastated by our maternity services in the UK.

I could rant about this subject forever, although i must say, it’s too much for me to watch, given my experience with Archie’s traumatic birth 24 years ago.

Not only did the hospital fail to act swiftly to deliver him safely, causing irreparable brain damage, but later lied about it, “lost” critical evidence and annotated notes to avoid being sued.

We live with the fallout daily, and I want you to know that it’s OK to make a scene in an antenatal ward if you think things aren’t right.

Most births are straightforward thankfully 🙏🏽 but for those that aren’t, trust your instincts; Make a fuss, insist on being heard. Protect yourself and your unborn baby.

Please know this is not a criticism of midwives. Many talented professionals are leaving the NHS in their droves precisely because the pressures and CHRONIC under funding in maternity services has destroyed their faith in the system.

I still remember the name of the junior midwife who did her very best to look after me while all the while i know she was out of her depth and inwardly panicking. Things were going wrong, but there was no surgeon available to section me, and nor was there a senior midwife or doctor on hand to know my baby was in distress and under threat.

By the time someone experienced came on the scene, it was too late.

MISALIGNED 🙃

Hello 👋🏽!

While I edit my jewellery offering, and continue working on some interiors projects, i’ve been asked to work on some exciting furniture commissions for BBC Money for Nothing 😎 rescued this lovely vintage chest of drawers, now reimagined in a textural, asymmetrical hand painted design.

Sometimes i’m asked where ideas come from, and usually it’s a mix. From sun drenched colours in Morocco, to a much loved & worn vintage silk scarf, this piece is a fusion of colours, graphic prints and vintage vibes which totally resonate with me.

I like the misaligned diagonals. A metaphor for a
life 🤪

Likewise, the grainy, textural surface detail and the shots of silver and neon pink remind me of the 80s in all its sepia tinged, messy school disco splendour.

I can’t help thinking this would look great in a shop, but honestly, i’d love to see it in living or bedroom too 😎
