Hello to all our new followers — I thought it was about time I introduced myself.

I’m Alison, and together with my husband Philip I run The Old Courthouse in Greyabbey.

We’ve been buying and selling antiques for many years and still love the thrill of finding something a little different — from furniture and paintings to textiles, ceramics and decorative pieces for the home.

We’re delighted to be taking part in The Great Antiques Fair at Larchfield Estate this September.

We’ll be bringing a carefully curated collection of Irish, English and Continental antiques, paintings, decorative objects and textiles, with a mix of recent finds and long-standing favourites.

Set within the beautiful surroundings of Larchfield Estate, the fair will bring together dealers from Ireland and the UK, offering visitors the opportunity to discover a wide variety of antiques, paintings, decorative objects and interiors all under one roof.

Over the coming weeks we’ll be sharing a selection of the pieces we’ll be bringing, so keep an eye on our page for a few previews.

A rare and exceptional Doulton Lambeth faience charger by the celebrated artist Katherine Sturgeon, dating from the early 1880s.

Hand-painted with a striking profile portrait of a young woman against a richly detailed background of lemon foliage, this remarkable piece beautifully captures the spirit of the Aesthetic Movement. Signed by the artist, it is a fine example of the artistic ambition and craftsmanship for which Doulton’s Lambeth studios became renowned.

A true statement piece and a rare opportunity to acquire an artist-signed work by one of Doulton’s most talented decorators.

Irish School, late 18th/early 19th century.

A beautifully atmospheric wooded landscape with mountains and lake beyond, painted in oil on canvas. Rich in depth, colour and light, this is a fine example of traditional Irish landscape painting from the period.

A pair of striking Italian giltwood wall brackets, richly carved with winged cherub heads and beautiful aged patina. Decorative and sculptural in equal measure, they make wonderful wall accents and bring a touch of old-world grandeur to any interior.
