Family holidays, day trips, slow days in the sunshine and lots (and lots!) of family time. Feeling very grateful for all of it.

Behind the scenes there’s also been the summer juggle, squeezing work in where I can, a couple of lovely new projects getting underway, site visits and lots happening ready for a busy September. It’s been a learning curve but one I feel so grateful to have the opportunity to learn!

Now somehow we’re down to the last couple of days before school starts and routine resumes..so here’s to all the parents who’ve spent the summer juggling work, children, family life and everything in between - we made it! 🙌🏼

I design homes for a living, but designing for your own child feels very different.

Every decision in this room has gone beyond how it looks.

How it feels.
How it functions.
How it supports rest, calm and safety.

As the smallest bedroom in the house, we’ve had to make every inch work harder, with bespoke storage, smarter layout choices and details chosen to grow with him.

Rooms rarely need more things, they usually need better choices.

Three details I come back to time and time again when creating spaces that feel elevated, warm and well considered:

Layered lighting instead of relying on one overhead source.
Texture and natural materials to create depth.
Correct scale, especially rugs, lighting and artwork.

It’s often these quieter details that make the biggest difference.

Designing bedrooms like this is always about more than they look - it’s about how they feel at the end of a long day. Calm, cosy, and ready to switch off.

Part 2 | Unboxing Levi’s bedroom

Not the polished reveal…
The in-between.

Where I question half my decisions, change my mind on handles 🙃 and focus on the bits that actually make the room work day to day.

Designing for your own child hits differently.

Especially when you’re not just thinking about how it looks…
but how it feels to be in.

A space where he can regulate, feel safe, actually BE safe…
and hopefully rest (a full night’s sleep would be a dream - SEN mums will get it).

This room went from being avoided… to everyone’s favourite spot in the house.

Part of a wider home transformation in Godalming, this living room needed to feel lighter, softer and more inviting, somewhere the whole family could properly relax.

We reworked the layout to make it flow, layered in warm, natural textures, and kept the palette calm and cohesive so it connects beautifully with the rest of the house.

It’s now one of those spaces that just works - morning coffee, slow afternoons, evenings all together.

And those are always my favourite kind of transformations 🤍

Behind the scenes of shoot day 📸

These are the bits you don’t always see…
the tweaking, the moving things 2cm to the left, the stepping back, reworking, trusting the process.

This master bedroom has been such a special one to bring together, seeing it through the lens (and on screen 👀) never gets old.
