🔥 From Electric Fire to Wood Burning Stove

This project started with an electric feature fire that the customer wanted replaced with a real focal point for the room.

Once we removed the surround and opened the fireplace, we uncovered the original structure and carried out the necessary work to prepare the opening for a stove installation.

The work included:

✔ Opening up the fireplace
✔ Installing a new structural lintel
✔ Power sweeping the chimney
✔ Installing a 316 grade stainless steel flexible liner
✔ Forming and plastering the chamber
✔ Installing a raised black slate hearth
✔ Fitting a locally sourced oak beam
✔ Installing and commissioning an ACR Woodpecker WP5 Plus multifuel stove

The finished result creates a clean, modern feature while providing efficient heat for the room.

As the temperatures start to drop, here’s some tips to help keep your stove running smoothly all winter long.

- Lubricate moving parts (handles, hinges, air sliders) for smooth operation.
- Pre-warm the flue before lighting to avoid cold air blockages.
- Store logs off the ground, covered and well-ventilated.
- Reload while there are still flames to prevent smoke spillage.
- Book a service to check seals, internals and moving parts.

A little maintenance goes a long way toward keeping stoves efficient, clean and reliable through the colder months.
