🌿 We’ve got a busy weekend ahead at Sanctuary Plants…

We’re kicking things off on Friday evening with something completely new for us - a sound bath and meditation in the shop with . 🧘‍♀️✨

It’s the first event of its kind we’ve hosted at Sanctuary Plants, so we’re really excited for this one. And it’s already sold out!

Then Saturday brings one of our favourite mornings of the month: Haddington Farmers’ Market. 🌿

The market will be in full swing, and we’ll be opening the shop a little earlier than usual at 9am, so you can enjoy a wander around the market and then pop in for a browse amongst the plants, gifts and all things botanical.

And then on Sunday… we’re hitting the road again! 🚐🌱

We’ll be setting up a little Sanctuary Plants at the Rosemains Steading Autumn Market, joining a lovely collection of local businesses and makers at this beautiful rural setting just outside Pathhead.

🌿 A little look back at last Sunday…

Our second succulent garden workshop was such a lovely afternoon. A small group, beautiful plants, plenty of chatting and a little time away from the usual pace of life. 🤎

It was wonderful to watch everyone settle in, get their hands in the soil and create something completely their own to take home. There’s something quite special about spending a couple of hours simply being creative with plants. No rushing, no distractions, just enjoying the process.

We’re so grateful to everyone who came along and shared the afternoon with us.

Next time, we’ll be creating our own terrariums - and that workshop is already fully booked! 🪴✨

We can't wait to keep creating these opportunities to bring people together, share our passion for plants and enjoy a little more time slowing down.

🌿 One whole year of Sanctuary Plants! 🌿

We’ve had such a busy couple of weeks since celebrating our first birthday that we’ve only just had a little time to stop, catch our breath and reflect on what an incredible year it has been.

From opening the doors for the very first time, to watching the shop become part of the Haddington community, it’s been a year full of plants, new faces, lovely conversations, muddy hands, plenty of learning - and more support than I could ever have imagined.

I wanted to take a moment to say a very personal thank you to everyone who has been part of our first year.

To everyone who has popped in for a look and found their new favourite shop, everyone who has recommended us to a friend, and everyone who has supported us with a mention online or a purchase - I wanted to personally say a massive thank you!

Starting a retail business in this day and age has sometimes felt like a bit of a moon-shot, with the cost of living rising and scary news reports. But I wanted to share my love of plants and their benefits with you and I just knew that the time and the place couldn't have been better. You've all shown up for me and I'm so grateful!

It's been an exciting learning curve over the last year, taking on all of the challenges of being a business owner - from accountancy to wifi, plumbing to marketing - but I will always come back to what I love, providing great quality houseplants, advice and services to you, because plants are so much more than something pretty to look at; they enhance our wellbeing, our air and our quality of life.

Thank you for helping make Sanctuary Plants what it is today. 🤍

Here’s to the next chapter - and plenty more plants along the way. 🌱

🌸 A little look back at Gifford Flower Show…

We had such a lovely time at Gifford Flower Show the other weekend! It was wonderful to spend the day surrounded by flowers, plants and the local community. 🌿

🌿 Changes to our opening hours next week

A little change to our usual opening hours next week, as we’ll be heading down to Birmingham for Glee, the UK’s leading garden trade show.

📍 Tuesday 8th & Wednesday 9th September — CLOSED

We’ll be spending the couple of days exploring new plants, products, suppliers and ideas for the shop, as well as keeping an eye out for the things we think you’ll love. 🌱

It’s an important part of running an independent plant shop - getting out there, seeing what’s new, meeting the people behind the products and bringing fresh ideas back to Haddington. We’re always looking for ways to make Sanctuary Plants a little better for you, whether that’s finding beautiful new plants, thoughtful gifts or products that make caring for your plants and home that bit more enjoyable.

We’ll be back to our usual opening hours from Thursday 10th September, 10am–5pm.

🌿 A little time for you, with something beautiful to take home.

Join us at Sanctuary Plants for our Mindful Succulent Garden Workshop on Sunday 13th September, 2–3pm.

Spend an hour getting creative with succulents, learning more about these beautiful, easy-care plants and creating your own miniature succulent garden. It’s a chance to step away from the usual rush, enjoy some hands-on time with plants and make something that’s completely your own.

At the end of the workshop, you’ll take your finished succulent garden home with you - a lasting reminder of an hour spent slowing down and getting creative. 🌱

Our last workshop was so loved by those who attended, and we now have just a couple of spaces left for this one.
