Our new clients definitely get a gold star 💫. They brought us on board alongside their architects before planning permission had even been submitted. This means we can look at the spaces, layouts and proportions from the outset and make sure everything works before plans are submitted and contractors are briefed / instructed.
Even once planning has been submitted, there is often still scope to move internal walls if needed, but getting us involved early gives us the best opportunity to get the layout right from the start.
When you are renovating an entire home, there are a LOT of decisions to make and, let us face it, probably one of the biggest investments you will make. So plan, plan and plan some more. The devil really is in the detail.

Can’t wait to share more on this one and I can promise you we will be honouring the beautiful bones of this gorgeous Tudor style home.

My Focus 26 takeaways || The return of ‘proper decoration’ (as I like to call it) is very much continuing. Architectural details (panelling / moulding’s etc) embroidery, appliqué, rosettes, fringes and decorative trims are all still having a moment (and I am absolutely here for it).
Layering is replacing matching. More pattern, texture, colour and different materials used together, rather than everything being too coordinated.
Lighting is getting waaaaay more decorative too, with sculptural and characterful pieces becoming much more of a feature in their own right. Jewellery for the room, if you will. ☺️
Interiors are definitely warmer, more collected and much more personal. Less about everything matching and more about bringing together things you actually love.
Basically, more personality, more decoration and much less playing it safe. Long may it continue!

Disclaimer: it wasn’t actually last week, it was the week before …. But it’s taken me over a week to get around to posting this because, well, you know….. work/life 🙃

Get your wellies on… summer is officially over 😭

I’m currently working on not one, but two boot room designs, so apparently I’ve decided muddy boots are my personality now. More on those soon.

In the meantime, here’s the boot room at Project Poppy, where we designed custom cabinetry to house sports kit bags, wellies, coats, shoes and, most importantly, a little bench for sitting down to wrestle wellies on and off.

There’s no greater compliment to an interior designer than being asked to come back. Let’s be honest, we designers do rather enjoy a bit of praise. 😊
A couple of years ago, we transformed the family bathroom, two teen bedrooms and a teen snug for this super lovely family of four. Here are a few snapshots of those spaces.
Fast forward to now and we’ve been invited back. This time to work our magic downstairs on the sitting room, dining room and kitchen.
We’ve been busy behind the scenes bringing the designs together and we can’t wait to reveal them to the clients very soon… followed by you, obviously. Clients first, Instagram second. We do have standards!

Tween girls… they’re going to spend A LOT of time sat here over the next few years, so it made sense to make it a nice place to be.

Skincare, makeup, talking to the mirror, talking on the phone, filming ‘get ready with me’ videos and, obviously, the odd bit of pretending to study.

A little snippet of a virtual design we’ve just completed for a client in Edinburgh. The client’s cats very much considered key stakeholders.

We planned the layout, pulled the scheme together and sourced everything, including a rather important cat-tower zone. Because beautiful high ceilings should also accommodate cats with aspirations.

Everything is packaged into a design pack with live pricing and links to shop via our client dashboard.

All turned around in 2–3 weeks. Cats included. 😽
