Tuesday night saw reduced numbers but that’s fine as there’s no class the next two weeks as I’m in Greece for my daughter’s wedding. So whilst I’m enjoying myself the rest of the group has homework to complete!!

It’ soooooo rewarding when class members tell you what’s next in the process. It means they have learned techniques and can put them into practice!

Oh, and we had cake! We enjoyed a lovely orange loaf baked by the lovely Sarah. There’s no end to the various talents in this group…..

It was lovely to be at our usual complement of ladies last night and we started the session by sharing achievements following the latest exam results and college admission interviews. I must mention that one poor soul needs to fork out for 9 sheep! Yep, you read that right: sheep were negotiated for each exam pass! That’s a new one on me…..

We started cutting and constructing our first page….. however, due to trying to get ahead and then not bringing decorative papers to class, I had to scrap my carefully constructed lesson plan and teach on the fly! They do like to test me.

We also had cake to celebrate Natalie’s birthday but looking at some of the faces they’re pulling you’d think they weren’t enjoying themselves in the slightest!

Despite reduced numbers last night we started our next project. This will be the largest album we’ve created….. so far!

The concentration is evident on every face and having sent them away with strict instructions to not fold their covers we will see who follows orders….

It makes such a difference having the chipboard cut to size…. no complaints about aching wrists and no need for any plasters!

Really looking forward to this one….

So, guess who forgot to take any photos last night????

My excuse is that we were late starting as we were all nattering and then I did a little show and tell session all about Rod’s tool….. and I think I’ll just leave it at that!!!

We were constructing a little album from a single sheet of 12” X 12” scrapbook paper. I love these types of quick makes!

Anyway, the photos of my finished sample just didn’t show it off, so I did a (very poor) video!

We start our large album next week….. cannot wait!

Tuesday night had tassels, rhubarb, fans and chocolate cake plus the ever-present giggles!

There’s a combination of words I would never have thought belonged together describing a class! We had such a blast - though cannot believe our challenges in making a tassel from a skein of embroidery thread that normally takes me 3 minutes - I know cos I timed myself - took us more than half an hour!

I must admit I love the generosity of this group as there were so many offers to share skeins…. Especially when one lady produced the most amazing organiser for storage! I just had to take a photo…. I was soooo impressed!

There are some photos of finished photo wallets but many still needed tweaking.

The word of the night was ‘Thickies’ rather than Thickers… 🤣🤣

Next week we will be tackling a one page wonder before starting our largest project to date….

We were rather warm on Tuesday evening which made teaching three groups all at different stages a bit of a challenge - for all of us!

The task was made easier in that one of my lovely ladies brought me a lovely bunch of flowers in to thank me for all that she had learned. I was so touched..... they look fabulous on my dining room table...

Next week will see us finish off these cute little photo wallets and any decorating left to do can be done at home; we will be concentrating on making tassels in class and decorating our covers.

I won't even pretend that discussions around tassels and what they could be used for stayed PG..... but we all had a right good giggle!

There were giggles galore on Tuesday night - the majority of which were at my expense!

How these ladies do love double entendres…. I think they were laughing so much they believed they heard me say ‘three and a quarter inch’ rather than ‘three quarters of an inch’…. Then we had the issue of a missing magnet - which turned up magnetised to their phone! Only discovered when said phone was being used as a torch to look for the magnet….. hilarious!

That’s before we mention the case of the ever decreasing work space….. one lady insisted on moving ever closer to her neighbour who ended up sandwiched tightly at the end of the table….

Despite enjoying the two week break we’ve had, it was so good to be back!

Despite being a couple of ladies down on Tuesday we had a lovely evening starting our next project. What made it even better was we welcomed a new member to our group! I'm not quite sure what she made of us mad lot but she seemed to enjoy our company and the crafting!

We managed to get the base construction of the photo wallet completed despite the giggles and distractions! It was a relief to see that everybody's wallet folded up nicely.... to the square it was meant to be.

We're already thinking ahead to our next project which is inspired by an album created by Kim and I will pop a brief video on here giving an overview in the next couple of days.

There are no classes for the next couple of weeks but I'm sure there will still be plenty of crafting!

It was our final session on Tuesday where we bound our cute house shaped albums. I’m surprised how smoothly it went considering how hot and bothered we were….

There are quite a few that still need finishing but I managed to grab a photo of a couple that were considered complete’ .

Starting our photo wallet on Tuesday and I will pop another post up with a quick overview.
