Caroline Ross Art

Caroline Ross Art Freehand line drawings. Inspired by nature. Created intuitively. This is me. Art is my therapy. It is my place of reflection, peace and contemplation.

Born in Scotland with long family lineage in the Outer Hebrides, my art is the voice of my soul. I feel beauty in light, in contrast, in contours & in shapes of nature. It is the wonderfully simple things, often taken for granted or invisible to so many, that inspire me. The patterns on shells, the shapes and lines of leaves, the reflection of light through petals, the structure and resilience of

stems, the movement and flow of water. The detail of my work reflects the intricacy of what I see. The small things. The visible invisible. The often overlooked, but the truly glorious. I have been drawing all my life, but in the last year it has become my a key part of my recovery after covid and subsequently a year off of work with long covid. The stillness and meditative space that art creates has been fundamental in my recovery and healing in both my physical and, importantly, my mental health. Thank you for your support,

Caroline

Water has always been home 🩵💦

Whether its a loch, pond, lake, river, sea, or pool, I love the way it teaches me to breathe deeper, move softer, and trust the flow. Every stroke is a conversation between body, breath, and mind.

But I also love a challenge—the kind that stretches you, humbles you, and asks you to grow.

So here it is… my next one is big......

Next year, together with Tamsyn, Kate & Johanna, we’ll be swimming the English Channel 🏊‍♀️ Cold, distance, tides, jellyfish, ships, doubt, but so much possibility.

Training has officially begun. 18 months to go. Building up endurance, ever longer swims, open water, pool time, deepening connection to the sea, and learning to stay calm when things get uncomfortable.

Join us as we prepare. This is just the beginning.. 🩵💦

Wintering - cold water, quiet breath - bare skin meeting the ancient earth.

Ice swimming isn’t about pushing or proving.
It’s how I rest. How I draw down after the noise of the festive season. How I return to myself through water.

Embracing the Cailleach, the old wise one of winter. The keeper of stones, storms, and deep time.
She teaches that this season isn’t for striving,
but for stillness, reflection, and listening to what lies beneath.

Instead of bombarding myself with resolutions and pressure, I’m choosing reverence. Self-care. Drawing down. Hibernation. Honouring the slow wisdom of winter.

Letting the cold water strip me back, ground me,
and hold me in something older than urgency.

Taking meeting doodling to a whole new level with my new mini watercolour set 😉

As someone with ADHD, doodling helps me focus and concentrate when there are other distractions.

Day one of English Nationals Indoors. Another first, and it was great! I'm loving challenging myself in new ways, so travelling to Sheffield solo and competing in the 100m free was a whole new level! Was 22nd in my age group, swam a PB and won my heat, so I'm very happy. So many friendly folks, the most amazing and inspiring swimming from 18 to over 90 year old athletes! Absolutely incredible.

Tomorrow, it's the 100m I.M. Can't wait!

Me and my sister live hours from each other, but we both LOVE a good chilly dip.....so, when we're together in the Outer Hebrides on our favourite island of Berneray, we made the most of it!
