DRU Fire Dik Geurts Instyle 550 🔥

This install was far from straightforward — I won’t bore you with the details — but needless to say, the results were well worthwhile.

After checking against a dozen or so different inset diagrams, the Instyle 550, although tight, was practically made for this fireplace. After a lot of awkward alterations to the surround and internal chimney throat — along with the most challenging connection I’ve had to make in years — I eventually found a way, allowing us to fully capitalise on the maximum available space within the original open fireplace.

Now the homeowner can enjoy incomparable efficiency and controllability, with a stove that is an absolute joy to use and will be for years to come.

The boss even triple-checked everything and gave the nod 🐶🦺

On to Solva tomorrow with a full team. The weather hasn’t been too clever today, so let’s hope tomorrow’s a little better. Either way, progress will be made — little by little.

The finish on the paintwork is unreal. The quality is exceptional and the colour absolutely pops 🔥

For this swap-over I needed a stove with a very specific rear spigot height so I could connect into the old existing twin wall system without carrying out any major alterations, and after checking the dimension diagrams of dozens of stoves the W5 happened to fit the criteria perfectly 👌

We’ve fitted quite a few of these now as the dimensions work brilliantly in a wide variety of installations, but this was our first one in Firecracker Red… and I’m completely sold on it 😍

Black is the standard option… but sometimes standard is…. boring… So be bold, be brave, be unpredictable. Be like Mrs Hesse! 😛

Firecracker Red from Dean Forge is an absolute winner 🔥🔥🔥

We’ve returned just under a year later to carry out the first annual sweep / service on this DRU Fire Dik Geurts Bora Corner.
The renovations are now complete and the property is looking stunning! I still think this is one of my best stove recommendations - I’m sure the stove was designed specifically for this property!

The renovations are almost complete at Cow Shed Cottage.

Using AI, we’ve been able to bring the space to life and properly showcase the new stove installation we completed today.

For this project, we opted for the Chesneys Shoreditch 4XLS in silver, paired with stainless flue.

It’s a beautifully compact stove — perfectly suited to the scale of the room while still delivering excellent heat output.

This stove will serve the cottage brilliantly, keeping guests warm, cosy, and comfortable all year round.

The cottage will be available to book very soon — ideal for a relaxing coastal escape.

Another stove swap completed this week 🔥

After a proper inspection, the existing liner was found to be in good condition — saving the customer a significant amount on the job 👍

The fireplace has had a full lift with a newly tiled chamber, and we’ve replaced the old unit with a stove that fits the opening perfectly. The difference speaks for itself.

Back to my roots installing the Henley Hazlewood — I must’ve fitted about 90% of them in Pembs! Still a great, reliable budget stove.

On to the next one 👋
