Completed my 100 day project! πŸ₯³

Three reasons why you should do one too:

πŸ’™ Build a sustainable art/creative practice
πŸ’™ Try different mediums/techniques (& actually use the things you have πŸ˜…)
πŸ’™ Have a reason to get creative and prove to yourself you can stick to something (instead of scrolling on your phone). When you're on day 80, you don't want to miss a day!

These were my reasons anyway. I'm so proud of myself for not missing a day, I even made myself a certificate! πŸ˜‚

Don't know about you, but as a kid I LOVED getting a certificate. I recently found an old folder with certificates in and I've decided I'm going to make my own going forwards.

What should my next challenge be?

What do you do with your art experiments?

Got quite a collection going on now...

Nearly at the end of my 100 day project doing an ACEO sized painting everyday!

I also have a collection of many experiments over these past few art creating years and I don't know what to do with them?

Not sure if they are good/worthy enough to sell, don't want to bin them, can't paint over them as most of them are textured somehow.Β

But my attic studio is starting to overflow and I want to do a big clear out.Β

Any suggestions?

100 DAY PROJECT

Inspired by the lovely I've been doing one painting a day for over 60 days now!

The only limit I gave myself was the size (ACEO size) and the fact that I have to do one a day, even if it's something really quick or bad!

It's *obviously* been sea themed, but I'm trying all sorts of mediums, textures and things I have around in my attic studio. I've even bought some cheap supplies to try new mediums.

I recently decided to stick them to a wall that I see every day to keep the motivation going.

It's nice exploring my creativity without any pressure and I can definitely recommend it!

If you're interested in following along, I'm also posting them to my story every day, and you can see the journey so far in my highlights.

Have you ever tried anything like this? What would your 100 day project look like?

I wanna show you all my favourite places...

A closer look at my finished mini paintings!

Can you spot your favourite place?

A collection of small, framed original acrylic landscape paintings capturing the iconic views along the British hiking trail. The artwork features the dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches, coastal footpaths, and blue sea of the South West coast in Devon and Cornwall, familiar to walkers of the national trail.

I walked 630 miles and made a mini painting of my favourite place from each day on the

Finally collated into one artwork piece that's proudly on a shelf at home.

A couple mishaps on the way. I didn't actually get around to finishing all the paintings on the walk and had to finish a few once we were home.

Swipe to see one of the biggest mishaps. Somehow when I thought I had finished and was laying them all out, I found I was actually missing three days!

Painted the missing three (luckily I had picked a favourite photo from each day and put them in an album, so this made it easier!).

Using painters tippex (aka thick white paint), I had to erase the wrong numbers on all the paintings past this point and rewrite the correct ones πŸ˜…

Got myself some beautiful teal paper from and mounted the mini paintings using some little double sided foam squares to give a bit of depth behind.

Then I popped it in a frame and voila! So proud of myself for following this project through, walking the entire path in one go and following our dreams and making it happen.

We were going to wait until retirement, but then decided what are we waiting for. Let's do it while we still can. I'm so glad we did.

I did look at getting these mini paintings made into little stickers, magnets or prints, but I'm not sure if the demand is there for coast path collectables?

Let me know what you think below πŸ‘‡

Another week of experiments on ACEO size cards.

Days 15-21/100

Loving the everyday creativity! Even if it comes out bad, takes just two minutes or isn't the result I wanted.

Another great hack is that the pack size I bought was 100 cards. So I can't scrap one I don't like as I only have the exact amount for the 100 days.

This is forcing me to let go of my perfectionist streak and just go with what happens.

Which is your favourite?

1. Cubism acrylic paint shoreline
2. Watercolour and fineline Porthmeor Beach
3. Splatter wave with acrylic
4. Thick acrylic texture sea
5. Spiral acrylic sunset seascape
6. Salt and watercolour ocean (experiment that didn't work - too hot? The salt was meant to create blooms)
7. Latex and watercolour water (latex was meant to peel away to leave the white, but it just soaked in, so I had to paint the white on top).

I think the cards I'm using might not be the best for doing experiments on! Perhaps I need to gesso or put a base ground down before trying some of these experiments?!
