What a game of football. Both sides put on a fantastic display full of energy, skill and determination. Easily the best performances we’ve seen from Betis this season.
The first half was a tightly contested battle with both teams creating chances but neither able to find the breakthrough. Betis defended superbly and moved the ball with real confidence going into the break level.
After halftime, the lads came out flying. Archie fired us into the lead with a brilliant left-footed drive to get things underway. Frankie providing the assist. Shortly after, Aaron doubled our advantage with an absolute screamer into the top corner. Moss, this time the provider. City Juniors pulled one back late on, but Betis held firm to secure a hard-fought victory.
Every single player deserves huge credit for their effort and commitment. It was a really even, high-quality game, but the lads absolutely turned up and gave everything for the team once again. We couldn’t be prouder of them.
Player Performances
Moss- Excellent all game reading play superbly and making some vital interceptions and tackles when it mattered most.
Frankie- Matched Moss with an excellent all-round performance, showing great defensive awareness and making key tackles to break up attacks.
Archie- A brilliant goal, great passing, and tireless box-to-box work. Set the tone for the second half with his energy and quality.
Aaron- Scored a cracking goal and was constantly involved in creating chances. His passing was sharp, and he was unlucky not to add to his tally.
Leo- Relentless pressing and creativity up front. Got into great positions and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet himself.
POTM- Nathan- A world-class performance between the sticks. Pulled off some incredible saves at key moments to keep Betis ahead. Absolutely outstanding display.
OPOTM- Zach- Covered every blade of grass, battling for every ball. Worked tirelessly from midfield, creating chances and showing real quality and determination.
Overall, a brilliant team effort and a performance to be really proud of. The lads showed heart, teamwork and quality throughout - a well-deserved win against a very strong side.
