Style the island at our Manor House Project with me 🤍 (mid install so please excuse the hair up / covered in dust aesthetic)

The final touches transform a space from designed, to truly personal.

During installation, every object is considered. From the balance of scale and texture to the pieces that reflect the clients lifestyle, aesthetic and story.

Styling is never just decorative. It creates a home that feels effortless, visually refined and deeply connected to the people within it.

This stage is where the vision comes to life for our clients.

Open plan spaces are something we discuss with almost every residential client we work with.

When executed well, they can completely transform the way a home feels - creating spaces that bring people together and change the way we live, entertain and spend time with loved ones.

But without real intention and consideration, open plan spaces can quickly feel cavernous, disconnected and lifeless.

Open plan living has become somewhat expected in modern homes, and there’s often an assumption that it’s impossible to get wrong. In reality, they’re some of the most complex spaces we design and require far more thought than most people realise.

Here’s our blueprint for creating an open plan space that not only looks beautiful, but truly works for the way you live.

I’m so pleased to reveal the breathtaking Formal Lounge at our Manor House Project.

A space framed by the most quintessential English countryside views across the estate grounds, designed to feel serene and deeply calming, yet undeniably regal.

As you enter, a bespoke media elevation forms the backdrop to the room, centred around the original mahogany fireplace and flanked by sand oak cabinetry housing a treasured photograph to one side and a concealed TV to the other. Opposite, a stunning collection of Oak Leaf artworks beautifully mirrors the surrounding landscape.

At the heart of the space sits an intimate gathering area, layered with the most tactile, luxurious fabrics used within the soft furnishings. Bespoke sweeping armchairs bring a palatial elegance, whilst an organic-shaped Taj Mahal quartzite coffee table softens the scheme beneath a striking chandelier.

A custom layered pelmet framing the bay French doors completes the room, drawing the eye out towards the gardens.

This is one of those spaces that truly takes your breath away, it’s pure magic.

A quick glimpse of yesterday’s site visit to a full home project in Preston.

We caught up with our site team to run through interior architectural details, confirm custom supplier finishes, and sign off samples with the client.

This project is an incredibly special one, situated in the heart of the most beautiful valley.💚

Utilising some of our recent projects to highlight the beauty of bespoke pieces and true British craftsmanship this evening.

When it comes to shop bought vs bespoke pieces, it’s about prioritising those pieces that truly change how a space is experienced. There is absolutely a place for both in luxury interiors, and there are some incredible pieces readily available on the market.

However, going bespoke allows you to design a piece from scratch and create a perfect reflection of the wider space. It allows you to design the piece around the scheme, rather than the other way around. Designing something from scratch creates a beautiful opportunity to tailor every finite element; size, shape, comfort level, materiality and detailing - and is personally one of my favourite parts of the process.

There is something so incredibly special about pieces that there are only one of in existence, pieces that were made specifically for you, by hand - and done right, bespoke pieces transform spaces into works of art and make them truly unforgettable.

The principal bathroom at our recently completed project in the heart of the English countryside.

Situated within a breathtaking manor property, a space that was once a dark, crowded dressing room is now home to an elegant, tranquil ensuite for our clients to transform their everyday rituals into a hotel-like experience.

We combined a material palette of light wood, honed Carrara marble and limestone porcelain to create the foundation of the scheme. Everything in this space, down to the finest detail, is bespoke - from the custom shower screen to the reeded vanity and brassware finish.

A space our clients can now call their sanctuary; a place to retreat from the chaos and simply take a breath 🤍

Every completed fine detail begins with an idea, a concept. Every finished space is a product of a meticulous process.

What we create at JMD is truly bespoke from start to finish. Every small detail is brought to life through exceptional consideration, thoughtful design, and a process that transforms a vision into reality.

From initial sketch to final creation, every piece is uniquely considered and crafted with intention.

I always say, there’s a distinct difference between a space that is ‘nice’ and a space that feels truly unforgettable.

A lot of interiors today are visually pleasing. But exquisite spaces do something far more powerful, they evoke emotion. That difference comes down to a series of intentional decisions, layered thoughtfully and executed exceptionally well.

Predictable interiors are often designed to be nice.
Exquisite interiors are designed to be experienced.
