Briggs Hillier Operations Manager, Lucy Moore attended Manchester Metropolitan University’s Interior Design Portfolio Surgery session on Thursday to review students’ portfolios and offer valuable industry insight and career advice.

Responsible for recruitment at Briggs Hillier and having been with the design studio for 20 years, Lucy shared her expertise with the students, guiding them on how to transform their portfolios from project presentations into powerful tools that effectively showcase their skills, creative thinking and potential to future employers.

Lucy commented: “Portfolio reviews like this are incredibly valuable because they help students understand how their work will be viewed by future employers. It’s not just about presenting great projects; it’s about communicating your thought process and skills in a way that’s clear and stands out. While students naturally focus much of their time and energy on completing their course work, putting time aside to learn how to develop a portfolio in a way that really speaks to employers is key to securing a strong career opportunity.”

Last week, Briggs Hillier Creative Lead Francine Bentley headed to Clerkenwell Design Week in search of the latest ideas shaping design and material innovation.

Alongside exhibits showcasing design solutions spanning furniture, lighting, craft, materials and finishes from both established and emerging brands, the design and architecture community also presented a series of installations responding to CDW26’s theme of DESIGN INTERVENTIONS.

Dotted throughout the parks and streets of Clerkenwell, these interactive installations were designed to “encourage interaction and conversations about materials and the built environment”, offering spaces to sit, reflect and connect with others while exploring structural and material concepts.

As a strategic design studio creating concepts for some of the world’s biggest brands, it’s vital that we remain at the forefront of industry innovation. Alongside attending events like CDW, we’re also the studio behind the popular retail publication SNAPSHOT - a bi-weekly newsletter rounding up the latest consumer experiences from brands and retailers across the globe.

HEYDUDE launches an ‘Icon’ store in Austin, Texas, introducing a fresh country-inspired concept, designed by Briggs Hillier. Kick back, connect with friends, and pick up Austin-exclusive merchandise!

Introducing a new global store concept, this new HEYDUDE store signals a strong positioning for the brand, celebrating its country roots through a warm, rustic interior. Bringing together raw brick, walnut wood, copper, tanned leather and Persian rug finishes, the concept unveils a country-inspired design language with a lifestyle experience to match.

In addition to offering the brand’s extended range of footwear, apparel and accessories, the Austin store features two lounge areas and a dedicated performance space complete with cinema box style signage promoting upcoming stage events.

Capturing a spirit that’s easy-going, creative, and individual, the concept isn’t tied to any one place. Austin simply marks the first in a series of ‘Full Price’ and ‘Icon’ stores set to roll out across North America and the rest of the world, because “HEYDUDE Country isn’t a place, it’s a headspace.” – Lewis Capaldi, Musician and HEYDUDE brand ambassador.

has officially reopened its refurbished stores at Meadowhall, unveiling the latest evolution of its retail concept across both schuh Adult and schuh Kids. Designed by Briggs Hillier, the updated spaces bring greater consistency, flexibility and energy to the schuh store experience in Sheffield.

To celebrate the reopening, schuh hosted a series of opening day activations, including a matcha bar, a Converse customisation station, and premium goody bag giveaways!

The Meadowhall stores not only reflect the wider schuh concept now seen across the UK, but also introduce a number of recent enhancements developed through the ongoing collaboration between schuh and our design studio.

It’s the final day of EuroShop 2026! A huge thank you to everyone who has joined us over the past five days – from those who attended our talks to everyone who stopped by our Briggs Hillier Pick ‘n’ Mix stand.

We’ll be at the stand for the remainder of the day so there’s still time to visit if you haven’t already! We’re at Stand 20 in the Designers’ Village (Hall 12).
