Today I’ve been to an oil painting demo in my village, to brush up on some skills in painting sea foam and clouds. The class was run by Hinckley & District Society of Arts, with DJ as the teacher, he was fantastic. With me being dyslexic it’s difficult to remember several instructions all at once, but thankfully DJ did the painting lesson section by section. Really great time was had by all of us. When I got home I added a bit more blue / purple to the deep parts of the sea.

Great news, my small painting “Widow with Urn” was selected for an exhibition in London, Saatchi Gallery. It’s on display right now! It is part of a curated selection of over 2000 postcards from over 80 countries.
1st - 11th October, 2026
10am-6pm at Saatchi Gallery, Duke of York’s HQ,
King’s Road, London,
SW3 4RY

Afterwards these postcard size artworks will be sold by them in support of Hospital Rooms, bringing therapeutic environments to mental health wards across the UK.

Update SOLD - “Paper escape” this watercolour painting I created was sold at the Hinckley District Society of Arts exhibition, also my tiny oil painting called “precious girl” sold. Thanks to all that went to enjoy the day, and support us local artists.
These sales have not yet covered the costs spent on frames to display my other five paintings that were also in the exhibition, but certainly has helped towards it.
