Your Green Vintage Home & Garden

It is regularly said that the Heritage Foundation do whatever they want to do and do not take any notice of the wishes of residents who live or the people who work, in Letchworth Garden City. Well here is your chance to have your say!

The current issue is the Heritage Foundation's refusal to give permission to erect solar panels where the sun shines mostly on your home.

If you moan but don't comment on any Heritage Foundation's rules you don't agree with, then blame yourself for not speaking up. In this instance they seem to be at complete odds with the UK Government regarding their efforts to reduce fossil fuel polution and also attempts to reduce the high cost of living we have now due to rising home fuel costs.

Watch the video and SPEAK UP NOW if you feel solar panels should be allowed anywhere the sun shines the most on your home so costs and fuel polution is greatly reduced . Or forever hold your peace!

Letchworth Garden City is the world’s first Garden City, and we are responsible for helping preserve the character of Letchworth by protecting key features of individual houses and their setting through the Heritage Foundation’s Design Principles, governed by the Scheme of Management or your lea...

Started to think about Christmas now, sorry! This is because I know there are many people who know that when you buy a special vintage item as a gift you have to think ahead.

The latest to be listed will be this large Marks & Spencer Serving Platter, a Mikasa Belle Epoque Swirl / Wave Centrepiece Bowl and a Chinese Peking Glass Bonsai Tree, discounted as usual if you buy directly from me.

Have a great one!

Note to all: my Ebay shop is still under Letchworth Green House as if I change the name my customers won't know where to find me!

Having a Vintage Christmas this year? It may seem too early for Christmas goods for the average person, but for avid Christmas Bauble collectors it is never too early. Nor is it is too early to buy a rare vintage item that's just the ticket as a special present for someone, which will be probably be long gone by the time it gets to December.

The dragon is from 1998 Enchantica Figurines, the vintage Holophane shade is c1930 - 1950, the Christopher Radko Noah bauble 2001, the crystal bowl - a perfect trifle bowl - Royal Brierley 1980s. You get history when you buy vintage and great value for money plus the environmental bonus too.

Haul arrived of Vintage Porcelain

Vintage English Porcelain haul last week. No rest for me this weekend (nothing new there). Had a haul of Wedgwood, Denby and Coalport last week which I needed to list. A new pattern for me ~ a Susie Cooper Design by Wedgwood called Charisma. Black, Platinum bands on a white background. Then there's the cabbage leaf design by Coalport which became Wedgwood and they carried the pattern on. Lastly the large 15" Serving bowl scoop made by 10 Strawberry Street which is almost identical the the ones made by Villeroy & Boch. A mixed bunch but ALL gorgeous and in excellent condition.
Have a happy Sunday everyone!

I posted this reel on Tiktok this morning and within two hours the Denby egg cups had sold. I guess that now Denby have closed their items may become even more popular.

I visited Denby many years ago and it was a great business with highly train staff and a pleasure to have a tour and watch it being made AND the shop which sold seconds too so bargains to be had.

There were rumours another company were going to take them over and I hope this is still a possibility, a great shame if it isn't, especially for their loyal staff. Fingers crossed for them.
