🚨 How To Spot A Dodgy Art Installer 🚨

We wanted to share this with you as we had another call today - the third in a matter of months - from someone who paid a deposit to a picture hanging company then had no one turn up or return their calls.

Different clients, different parts of the country, same story.

We were also called in to finish a job another firm walked away from. They'd taken a deposit for the installation of a 25kg piece, then sent a carpenter - not an Art installer - who couldn't hang it alone, damaged the wall, and left without finishing.

So before you book anyone, here's how to protect yourself:

🖼 Cross-check platforms - does the five-star badge on their website match Google, Trustpilot or social media?

🖼 Read reviews - do they include names and dates?

🖼 Ignore international accreditation - The "BBB Accredited" badge means nothing in the UK. The Better Business Bureau is a North American accreditation.

🖼 Be wary of big deposits - understand what it's for and whether one is needed at all.

🖼 Heavy Art needs a specialist - understanding appropriate fixings and load distribution is skilled work.

If in doubt, trust your gut and ask questions. If you can't get a real person on the phone before booking, that's a red flag.

Hang My Art was established in 2015 by husband and wife duo David Bull and Julia Roebuck upon returning to the UK after living & working in Australia.

David trained as an Art Installer in Melbourne in 2014, under the expert tutelage of Stephen Robarts.

Based in West Yorkshire, they deliver professional Art installation services for residential and commercial clients around the UK.

Through his talk "The Accidental Art Installer", David shared the human stories behind the Art he has installed, answered his most-asked client questions and offered practical Art install tips and advice throughout, followed by a lively Q&A to a sold-out audience.
