Same kitchen. Completely different feel.

This transformation shows just how much you can change the look of a kitchen without starting from scratch.

The original dark, glossy cabinetry gave way to a softer combination of muter green Shaker doors and white upper cupboards. New worktops and emerald green vertical tiles brought the whole scheme together, with black hardware adding a crisp finish.

It's a good example of how carefully chosen finishes can change the character of a space - creating a room that's fresher, more elegant and more contemporary.

Sometimes you don't need a whole new kitchen. Sometimes you just need a new direction.

From tired and broken to a beautiful place to bathe.

This bathroom was originally two separate rooms — a traditional set up of a bathroom and separate toilet. Both were looking tired and in need of a revamp, so we decided to take thd opportunity to knock them through, move the door on the landing and create a more spacious bathroom.

Then it was all about the design details. I love matching the right tile to the right client and the right home!

The statement Morris & Co hexagonal tiles run across the floor and behind the bath, bringing pattern, colour and Arts & Crafts character to the room. Plain kit-kat tiles provide a simpler contrast at the splashback, allowing the patterned tiles to take centre stage.

The result is a bathroom that feels completely different: more spacious, full of character and designed for taking time out to enjoy a beautiful bath.

What happens when you spend a day surrounded by beautiful design?

You come home with a head full of ideas and inspiration from one of my favourite events of the year!

Discovering new brands, new products and new makers, makes for a wonderful day at Decorex.

One of the talks explored something I really value in my work - taking the time to get to know and understand my clients so that I create design schemes that suit them perfectly.

Good design isn't about impressing anyone, it's about living in your own home just the way you want to, surrounded by things that you love.

Perhaps for you that means the most beautiful white piano! 🎹

I'm looking foreard to seeing where some of these ideas might find their way into future projects.

Planning an extension? Don't leave the interior decisions until the builders are already on site.

There’s a lot to think about before work begins, and some of the decisions that make the biggest difference to your finished room need to happen surprisingly early.

From window sizes and positions to flooring and lighting, these elements need to be thought through and decided early in the process. This makes the builder’s job easier and your life less stressful.

And if you have a design scheme in place, when the groundworks, steels and plaster-boarding are long forgotten you are left looking at a room that's exactly how you want it. And being able to picture the finished space will help you through the dust, noise and inevitable challenges too.

Still hoping for a new room before Christmas? You may not need a full renovation.

This living room started as a plain new-build space, with magnolia walls and chunky, outdated wood furniture.

The client loves pink, so we had some fun with colour — but I balanced it with a kingfisher blue/green sofa, a soft cream fur chair and mid-oak furniture.

The result is a room with much more personality, that didn't need any structural alterations.

This is the kind of transformation that can be realistic in around a month — provided the furniture you need is in stock.

“She truly works in partnership with you, making the whole process collaborative and enjoyable.”

This is something I really value in the way I work with clients.

Not everyone starts a project knowing exactly what they want. Sometimes you have a general direction, a few colours you like, and a feeling that you want your home to be different — but you're not quite sure how to get there.

That was very much how this multi-room project started.

As I introduced ideas, materials and different possibilities, my clients responded with what they liked, what they didn't, and where they wanted to take things.

From there, the design became a real collaboration — with me bringing the creative ideas and expertise, and them responding, contributing and making decisions along the way.

I love that they described the process as collaborative and enjoyable, because I felt that way too!

This utility room needed to work a lot harder.

The existing cupboards were old and falling apart, the worktop around the sink was damaged, and there simply weren't the right spaces for everything my clients needed to store.

They wanted a utility room that looked better, but more importantly, worked better for everyday life.

So I introduced a tumble dryer, a large heated towel rail for drying clothes, a broom cupboard for the hoover and cleaning equipment, top boxes for storage and a pull-out bin for recycling.

They liked the character the Belfast sink added, so this stayed along with new oak worktops. I also managed to find space for a very slim w**e fridge. 🍷

One of my favourite details is the rail beneath the top cupboards, giving them somewhere to hang shirts to dry.

And the open shelving adds the more considered, designed feel they wanted, so the room doesn't feel purely functional.

A utility room can look good at the same time as working hard for you.

Sometimes the best bathroom transformations are about making the space work harder.

This bathroom was being used by four adults, but there simply wasn't enough storage and the shower felt small and cramped.

The solution wasn't just about choosing new fixtures. It was about rethinking the layout and making better use of the space available.

Firstly we removed the bath and used the depth of the void beneath the bungalow to move the toilet to the opposite wall. This allowed us to create a much larger shower enclosure on the left wall.

But that wasn't all we did on that wall. I mirrored a build-out on the opposite wall (a cupboard from the hallway), creating space to house the shower controls, a shower niche and a slim cupboard for taller toiletries.

On the opposite wall we installed more storage around the toilet and vanity, including full-sized kitchen wall cupboards with bespoke dark wood doors.

The result is a bathroom that works much better for the family using it — with everything close at hand, but neatly stored away.

How do you modernise a traditional lounge without losing its character?

This lounge in Horsham belongs to a couple who wanted to make the room feel lighter, brighter and more modern, while still respecting the long family history of living in this beautiful bungalow.

One of the key changes was removing the very dated fireplace and creating a smaller decorative nook in its place.

I also integrated the TV into the alcove shelving, with the electrics hidden underneath, so that the technology became part of the room rather than dominating it.

The light green sprig wallpaper on the chimney breast adds another layer of interest, with the same wallpaper continued on the back wall of the room.

The result is a room that feels fresher and more contemporary, but still has plenty of warmth and personality.

And the couple now have a room that works for what's important to them — watching TV, a comfy chair for knitting by the window and displaying ornaments and photos that are important to them.

A beautiful kitchen doesn't just happen.

There’s a lot of preparation work behind the scenes before the finished room is completed.

For this kitchen, that meant creating an inspiring and elegant design, guiding the client to make the final decisions and coordinating trades and deliveries so the installation could happen smoothly.

You can't see that in-depth preparation in the finished photographs, but it’s what helps turn an idea into a new reality for my clients. All in the most enjoyable and stress-free way possible.
