This is a custom 5m x 9m Sudbury log cabin which was made with 60mm thick wall logs.

This building had the partition wall that splits the building in to two rooms moved to the rear of the building to make a 1.2m room and then we added a 1.2m movable partition to split this room in to two with a fully boarded single door going in to each area. As the distance between the entrance wall and the partition wall change to be over 5.6m we needed to add an archway to the building as well to cover and make the joints in the side walls water tight and also to give the roof purlins a place to join together. Due to the new layout of the building the windows in the side wall were all moved so that there were two on each side. The roof canopy was increased from 1.0m deep to 1.5m deep and we also added two extra courses of logs to the walls of the building to get more height.

This building is a 60mm singleskin and it was supplied with:

The fixings kit.
Black square felt shingles.
Simple tilt & turn upgrades for the windows.
Georgian bars for the windows in the entrance wall only.
Two trickle vents.
Doors upgrade to our ISO house quality.

We get asked by a good number of people if we can make made to shape buildings to fit in to the corners of odd shape gardens and yes it could be possible with a timber framed building but not with a log cabin. This customer went for a rectangular shape building which was placed across the odd shape corner of the garden and then we made a rear roof canopy to cover the area and we also added an inward opening single door to the rear of the building to access the area.

This custom building was based on our 7.5m x 4.5m pent roof Basildon log cabin. Our office at the showground (RH13 6NX) is a 35mm twinskin pent roof Basildon with the 35mm twinskin construction and a 1m deep roof canopy if anyone wants to view one.

What makes this building custom is that one window has been removed from the side wall and then the 3m wide front wall section to one side of the internal archway was turned inside out to make the cabin an "L" shape so that the cabin went around an apple tree that the customer didn’t want to remove. One end of the cabin is made at the standard depth of 4.5m but the other end of the building has been reduce to 3m deep.

Golf Simulator building by Hortons

We keep getting asked if we can make buildings for golf simulators to be housed in and the simple answer is yes we have made a few over the years. This customer went for a pent roof building with a minimal roof pitch as we used the epdm rubber roofing, the building is 5m wide and 5.5m deep with extra tall walls to allow for the height he needed to swing a golf club inside.

This building was made as a singleskin log cabin with 45mm thick wall logs and was built on one of our raised timber base kits with rot free plastic posts. The Edenbridge log cabin is 5m wide by 9m deep and split in to two room's as standard. The first room is 5m wide x 5m deep externally and the rear room is 4m wide by 5m deep externally, the wall thickness will determine the internal sizes of each room.

This building has a singleskin wall thickness of 35mm and it was supplied with :

Black hexagonal felt shingles which last up to 30 years.
The windows were upgraded to inward opening tilt & turn with 24mm thick double glazing.

This is our 3m x 9m Glastonbury log cabin which was purchased with our 28mm singleskin wall thickness which means the wall logs have a single tongue and groove and the windows and doors have 4mm thick single glazing as standard, if our buildings have a 35mm wall thickness or thicker the wall logs would have double tongues and grooves and the windows and door would have 14mm thick double glazing as standard.

This building is split in to two rooms as standard which are 3m x 5m and 3m x 4m in size, Five 1230mm tall x 710mm wide windows along one side, A pair of half glazed double doors for the entrance and another pair in the partition wall.

We supplied all the fixings needed to build the cabin and Green hexagonal felt shingles for the roof covering which last up to 30 years and we also installed the cabin for the customer.
