It’s always a treat when I get these vintage Ercol pieces in my workshop. This is a model 248 (1954-57). Looking good at 70 years old but that’s what you get when you buy a quality hand-crafted piece of furniture like this.

At some stage in its life there have been some spurious alterations to the seat so it was good to be able to put it back how it should be with the proper Pirelli webbing.

Sitting under several layers of upholstery was the original fabric - very much resembling that in the Ercol catalogue (see last pic - I do love a bit of nostalgia!)

I seem to have misplaced the ‘before’ photo of this Multiyork armchair 🤦‍♀️but it was a dark pink and the fabric had started wearing away on the arms.

It was a good quality chair so rather than replace it, my clients opted to have it re-covered in a fabric to match their sofa so not only has it had a complete refresh but it now finishes the whole room off too. 💫

Dutalier nursing chair. These once very popular chairs were made in Canada and are superb quality - they are also very comfortable too - so definitely worth hanging onto if you have one. This one has been re-covered in a super soft fabric called ‘Alpaka’ with the cushions re-designed a little for a more modern look 💙

I was slightly obsessed with the beauty of the woodwork on these vintage GPlan ladder back dining chairs. c.1970s they still had the original upholstery so everything was stripped back, the foam replaced and then finished in this classy Linwood • Fabrics, Wallpapers & Cushions moleskin velvet 🩶🩶🩶

✨ Dining chair glow-up ✨ My clients wanted something a little more vibrant to complement their blinds made by Ashley Interiors & Curtains. They opted for this lovely red faux leather to replace the old peeling brown. I also added some new foam to the seats (because the makers of today’s high street furniture are pretty stingy that way!!) My clients now have a much better quality product, whilst getting exactly what they want and being kinder to the environment too ❤️

Set of 8 new seats for these classic dining chairs. My client has had these a long time and they had started sagging in the middle as the webbing had perished and the fillings were old and flat. I stripped them back to the frames and built back up with new jute webbing, hessian and foam and they are now solid and comfy again. My client wanted to find something close to the original fabric and after a little searching we found the perfect one. ✨
