Today is World Bee Day 🐝

At Excel, we've been trying to ensure that sustainability goes beyond the products we manufacture. Through our Elements II Collection, we’re proud to support the work of The Bumblebee Conservation Trust, helping raise awareness of the importance of protecting the UK’s bee populations.

Bumblebees are a vital part of our ecosystem, pollinating wildflowers, plants and crops that support both biodiversity and food production. But with habitat loss and environmental pressures continuing to grow, many species are in decline.

As a UK manufacturer, supporting initiatives that encourage a healthier environment is something we believe matters, however big or small the contribution.

This World Bee Day, even a few simple actions can help:

🌼 Plant bee-friendly flowers
🌱 Leave wild areas wild, where possible
🐝 Support organisations working to protect pollinators

Our Regional Sales Manager Craig & his wife Stephanie who also works in our Roman Blinds Department, will be putting all their recent training to the test in the White Peak Half Marathon in Derbyshire this coming Saturday.

They’re doing it not just as a huge personal challenge but to raise money for Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation, two charities that are very close to both their hearts.
As part of the Excel family, I’m sure many of you will get behind them on taking this on.

Meet James, who is now covering the North of England and the East Riding.

With over a decade in soft furnishings and textiles, he’s now joining us here to turn his hand to blinds and wider window shading solutions.

He’s got a straightforward, genuine approach and we’re really pleased to have him on the Excel team.

Training wrapped up in January, and he’s been planning visits and introducing himself to customers across the region, so you’ll likely be hearing from him soon if you haven't already!

We are so proud of our Yorkshire roots here at Excel and we constantly draw inspiration from our gorgeous surroundings for our fabric collections and in the rich textile manufacturing history in the area.

If you’re at a loose end this weekend, we’d highly recommend the walk along the Cleveland Way path from Sandsend (near Whitby) to Runswick Bay, blow away the cobwebs along the cliffs while you ponder how to style the coastal homeshores look into your home.
